DCLM Daily Manna 4 January, 2018 by Pastor Kumuyi - An Invitation To Mourn

Topic: An Invitation To Mourn — Thursday January 4, 2018.

Text: Jeremiah 9:12-26

Key Verse: “Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Consider ye, and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for cunning women, that they may come: And let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids gush out with waters"(JEREMIAH 9:17,18).

Some of us may not be the best preachers or teachers, but even our weak tears can bring a great awakening.

The Lord God will never forget those who invested their tears in watering the land for Him; those who with tears awaken the deadened consciences of people who cannot weep for themselves.

At a time of overwhelming judgment against sinful Israel, a mark of preservation was set only on two classes of people: those who sighed and those wept over the iniquities of the land (Ezekiel 9:4).

In the verses under consideration today, a prophetic demand was made for mourners to weep over the nation of Israel.

When the Lord begins to call for lamentation over the nations, it is an indication that the situation needs urgent intervention. The Church has the ability to awaken Christ-like righteousness; but if we are at ease in Zion, the land sinks deeper into the mire of sin.

While we are busy with necessary activities to keep life going, we must never forget our most important duty – preaching and weeping over our communities filled with gross immorality, idolatry and wickedness. Sadly, the voice of preaching men and women to warn and lead sinners to Christ has surprisingly silent in many places today.

Our tears over the nations speaks powerfully.

In days of His flesh, our Lord Jesus Christ wept over the city of Jerusalem. Jeremiah was a weeping prophet over Israel. God stores our tears and transcribes them in words which are preserved in His book of record (Psalm 56:8).

That book of record echoes our voices of supplication long after we may have ceased praying or forgotten that we have even prayed.

Thought For The Day: Saint’s tears sometimes speak louder than their words.

Open Heavens 5 January 2018: Friday daily devotional by Pastor Adeboye – Spiritual Separation, Flatimes

Topic: Spiritual Separation — Friday 5, January 2018

Memorise:But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Revelation 21:8

Read: John 15:4-6 (KJV)

4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Bible in One Year: Genesis 11-13, Revelation 4, Hymn: Sing Hymn 5: I Have Decided To Follow Jesus

MESSAGE:

“And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” -Matthew 27:46

The above verse of Scripture vividly captures what spiritual separation is and the agony that accompanies it. The Lord Jesus Christ experienced it on the cross of Calvary on behalf of all mankind, when He carried the sins of the entire world upon Himself, and the Father turned His face away from Him for the first and only time. My Prayer for everyone who is spiritually separated from God is thy their eyes of understanding will be opened to see their pitiable state, and that they will realise the agony that awaits them in eternity if they do not reconcile with God.

Sin is the root cause of spiritual separation. The reason is that the Almighty God cannot look at it or interact with sin (Habakkuk 1:13). If you are living a life of sin, you are spiritually separated from Him. Genesis chapter 3 narrates to us how the first man and woman experienced spiritual separation. After they sinned, they became empty and naked. They felt so worthless that even when God tried to reach out to them, they were too ashamed to show up. A sense of guilt and self-condemnation overwhelmed their hearts. We thank God today there is remedy for spiritual separation: the Blood of Jesus (Colossians 1:19-22). However, there is an eternal spiritual separation that is coming from which there is no remedy; the Bible refers to this as the second death. Today’s memory verse tells us some of those who will partake in this terrible experience and the first of these is the fearful. Proverbs 29:25 says,

“The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.”

Saul, the first king of Israel, lost his throne because of the fear of man. Just like King Saul, many leaders have lost their God-given leadership position because of the fear of men. The unbelieving are next on that list. Unbelief was the bedrock of Adam and Eve’s disobedience. Other practices such as lying, murder, adultery, incest, homosexuality, as well as witchcraft and sorcery, are the part way to eternal separation. Beloved, spiritual separation from one’s Maker brings about untold agony and frustration because without God, you can do nothing (John 15:5). If you are in the state of spiritual separation today, close the gap between you and your Maker through genuine repentance and by applying the Blood of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God. Blessed are you if you do this because you will escape the agony of eternal separation from God in the Lake of fire.

Action Point: Examine your life. Whatever brings separation between you and God should be done away with. Also ask for forgiveness and cleansing in the Blood of Jesus.

Hymn 5: I Have Decided To Follow Jesus

1. I have decided to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus;
No turning back, no turning back.

2. The world behind me, the cross before me;
The world behind me, the cross before me;
The world behind me, the cross before me;
No turning back, no turning back.

3. Though none go with me, I still will follow;
Though none go with me, I still will follow;
Though none go with me, I still will follow
No turning back, no turning back.

4. My cross I’ll carry, till I see Jesus;
My cross I’ll carry, till I see Jesus;
My cross I’ll carry, till I see Jesus;
No turning back, no turning back.

5. Will you decide now to follow Jesus?
Will you decide now to follow Jesus?
Will you decide now to follow Jesus?
No turning back, no turning back.

Topic: The Home [Friday January 5, 2018]

Love never faileth . . . — 1 Corinthians 13:8

The first essential for a happy Christian home is that love must be practiced. Homes that are built on animal attraction and lust are destined to crumble and fall. Love is the cohesive force that holds the family together. True love contains an element of spiritual mystery. It embodies loyalty, reverence, and understanding. Love imposes a tremendous responsibility on all members of a family, but it is a responsibility accompanied by glorious rewards. “Love,” says the Bible, “even as Christ . . . loved the church, and gave Himself for it.” How did Christ love the church? He loved it despite its faults, its mistakes, and its weaknesses. True love does not fail. It loves despite personality defects, physical blemishes, and mental quirks. Love is deep, abiding, and eternal. Nothing can bring a sense of security into the home as true love can.

Prayer for the day: Help me today, to listen, to love and care for my loved ones with a heart that is made sensitive by You, Jesus.

Luke 1:34, "Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?"

Text: Luke 1:26-38

Contrast Mary's question and Gabriel's response with the question that Zacharias asked Gabriel and the response that he received (Luke 1:18-20). You will find the questions are similar but the responses are totally different.

Both Mary and Zacharias asked how these miracles would occur but it is evident that Mary was asking "how" in faith while Zacharias was asking "how" in unbelief. It is a clear Bible teaching that unbelief doesn't please God (Heb. 11:6), but the Lord doesn't mind us questioning Him for the purpose of instruction so we can cooperate with His will in our lives.

Abram knew that it was God's will for him to have a son but Abram and Sarai came up with their own plan which caused them and the world much grief (Gen. 16:1-6). Abram would have avoided many problems if he had asked the Lord how He was going to accomplish this miraculous event.

If Mary had not questioned this angel, she might have reasoned that Jesus would be born through the natural union of her and Joseph. This would have been a grave mistake. It would have disqualified her from being used.

It's not enough just to know God's will. We need to continue to seek the Lord until we know God's plan for accomplishing that will.

Our Daily Bread 5 January 2018 Devotional – Just Like My Father

Topic: Just Like My Father — Friday January 5, 2018.

Read: 1 Peter 5:8–12, Bible in a Year: Genesis 13–15; Matthew 5:1–26

It is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”1 Peter 1:16

My father’s dusty, heeled-over, cowboy boots rest on the floor of my study, daily reminders of the kind of man he was.

Among other things, he raised and trained cutting horses—equine athletes that move like quicksilver. I loved to watch him at work, marveling that he could stay astride.

As a boy, growing up, I wanted to be just like him. I’m in my eighties, and his boots are still too large for me to fill.

My father’s in heaven now, but I have another Father to emulate. I want to be just like Him—filled with His goodness, fragrant with His love. I’m not there and never will be in this life; His boots are much too large for me to fill.

But the apostle Peter said this: “The God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ . . . will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast” (1 Peter 5:10). He has the wisdom and power to do that, you know (v. 11).

Our lack of likeness to our heavenly Father will not last forever. God has called us to share the beauty of character that is His. In this life we reflect Him poorly, but in heaven our sin and sorrow will be no more and we’ll reflect Him more fully! This is the “true grace of God” (v. 12).

Prayer: Father God, we want to be just like You. Help us to grow more and more like You each day!

Through the cross, believers are made perfect in His sight.

Insight:

Not everyone has a father whose boots they wish to fill. Some of us don’t even know our father. But the Bible gives us real hope! We have a Father who welcomes us with open arms. And He tells us, “Be holy, because I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16).

We shouldn’t let that lofty challenge frighten us. Our loving Father gives us what we need to follow Him, even when we fail. Just look at Simon Peter’s life. Peter wrote to a church facing intense persecution, and he warned of a mortal enemy—the devil—who “prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” (5:8). That imagery reminds us of Jesus’s warning to Peter before His crucifixion: “Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers” (Luke 22:31–32).

Jesus prayed for Peter. He prays for us too. Wherever we are today we can “turn back,” as Peter did, and find our Father’s welcome.

What hinders you from enjoying God’s acceptance and love? Tim Gustafson

Our Daily Manna January 5, 2018: ODM devotional: Take A Risk This Year

Topic: Take A Risk This Year [Friday, January 5, 2018]

Basic Scripture 2 Kings 7:1-20; James 2:17

‘’life is a risk’’ says the philosopher .most people whose lives have affected nation and communities have been great risk takers. There is a popular saying that, “No venture no success’’. Both the fearful and the brave will die but once!

The risk taken by the seven lepers in the today 1st scripture changed their destinies, Place in human history and the destiny of a nation. The historical and literary character, Julius Caesar once said, “COWARDS DIE MANY TIMES BEFORE THEIR DEATH’’ In the new year 2018, make up your mind to take those Business, Marital, Spiritual risk and decision you have been postponing due to fear of failure or criticism. I remember that the great south African Human Right Activist Desmond Tutu, once made a profound statement .He said “FAITH IS A PROFOUND RISK BUT IT IS A RISK I WILL NOT LIVING WITHOUT’’.

In your daily walk on this planet this year, have faith in God and in his word and take bold or bolder decisions. Noah took a risk by building the ark! It took him, 120 years to build and ark that was used for 40 days. Abraham took a risk by relocating his entire family at an old age. Job took a risk for nine months by trusting God despite his strange, satanic attacks. Note that you will never stop taking risk as you go through life because: SUCCESS IS IN VARIOUS LEVELS! There are HIGHER LEVELS of testimonies, success and decoration awaiting you as you BEGIN AND CONCLUDED THE WORLDWIDE 21-DAY FASTING which begin tomorrow!

Get your “WAR AGAINST HUMAN 13”booklet which contains the prayer point of the 21 days FAST! To PRAY and RISK which will RE WRIT YOUR LIFE STORY FOR GOOD! In fact, the higher you go, the greater the risks you will take for greater levels of success. RESIST DISCOURAGEMENT BECAUSE THE GREATEST RISK IN LIFE IS TO RISK NOTHING! Hear Eleanor Roosevelt” Do one thing every day that scare you” wow! That is faith! Act first! I am captivated by John Rohn: ‘’IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO RISK THE UNUSUAL, you will have to settle for the ordinary’’ May you not die as ORDINARY!

Failure and fear are twins! Avoid and conquer them this year! Take a bold step! Fast again sow again! Be at the world anointing night again! No venture, no success!

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland’s Daily January 5, 2018 Devotional: You Are Righteous

Topic: You Are Righteous [Friday January 5, 2018]

...not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith. - Philippians 3:9

I don't care how badly you may have messed things up yesterday or how many mistakes you have made, I want you to begin this day knowing you are righteous! Not because of anything you've done but because you've received, by faith in Jesus, the very righteousness of God.

Just look at the kinds of benefits the Word of God says that righteousness will bring:

"The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree" (Psalm 92:12).

"When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth" (Proverbs 11:10).

"The seed of the righteous shall be delivered" (Proverbs 11:21).

"For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers" (1 Peter 3:12).

"For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield" (Psalms 5:12).

"The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles" (Psalms 34:17).

"I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread" (Psalms 37:25).

"The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever" (Psalms 37:29).

"The Lord loveth the righteous" (Psalms 146:8).

Don't let the devil rob you of even one of these blessings by telling you you're unworthy of them. Run him off. Shout out loud, "I am the righteousness of God!" Then step out in faith and enjoy the privileges God has prepared for you!

TREM’s Daily 5 January 2018 Devotional by Dr. Mike Okonkwo - We Love Because He First Loved Us

Topic: We Love Because He First Loved Us — Friday January 5, 2018.

“We love him, because he first loved us.”1 John 4:19 KJV

Our capacity to love is not of ourselves. Yesterday, I said the world cannot love because they do not have the capacity to love. Some of you may be wondering how possible that is. The question is “what is the love of God”? Do you understand His love? If you do, you will realize that the world does not have the capacity to exhibit that kind of love.

What is the love of God? The love of God loves, not because of who you are or what you have done; the love of God loves you IN SPITE of you. The love of the world loves you when you are doing the right things. The world loves you when you favour them, but that is not the love of God. The love of God loves you even when you are dead in sin and totally far from Him. His love reaches out to you in the pit and pulls you out of the pit (that is what the pulpit is all about). The love of God keeps reaching out to you despite your response to Him in hope that someday, you will accept His love. So, when we love Him, we are simply reciprocating His love.

The love of God is reaching out to you today. Are you held down by guilt? The love of God is reaching out to you. Is your past haunting you? I encourage you to forgive yourself because the love of God is reaching out to you. Accept His love today and walk in boldness of the freedom that He has made available to you.

Seeds of Destiny 5 January 2018 by Pastor Paul Enenche: Understanding Vision

Topic: Understanding Vision [Friday December 5, 2018]

Scripture:And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. Habakkuk 2:2

Thought For The Day: If you do not know where to go, you will not leave where you are.

Yesterday, we saw the necessity of conceiving vision for the year 2018. We noted that without a clear definition of destination, stagnation and frustration in life are inevitable. Hence, there is a need to conceive vision for the year, 2018.

Now, the question is, what is vision? Take note the following three definitions:
1. Vision is a clear definition of life’s destination. Vision implies understanding where one wants to go in life or knowing what one wants to achieve.

2. Vision is a clear picture of a preferred future. It is picturing the kind of future you prefer for 2018 as well as for the rest of your life. This is because to live by chance is to end by chance.

3. Vision is the direction of life’s motion. It is knowing the direction you would like your life to move. As a pastor or a businessman, it is vision that determines the direction your life is going per time.

Having defined vision, we will consider one impact of vision:
The fuel for motion!

Vision is the fuel for motion. Motion is never possible without vision. The point is, if you do not know where to go, you will not leave where you are. This is why the absence of vision is the abundance of stagnation.

My counsel is, refuse the life of stagnation by conceiving a solid and achievable vision for your life.

Remember This: If you do not know where to go, you will not leave where you are.

Assignments:

1. Ask God to give you a solid and achievable vision for 2018.

2. Endeavour to work towards actualizing your vision.

Prayer: O Lord, I ask for a clear revelation of what You want me to do this year, 2018, so that my life can move forward in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna 5 January, 2018 by Pastor Kumuyi – When The Tables Turned

Topic: When The Tables Turned — Friday January 5, 2018.

Text: Esther 9:13-19

Key Verse:“On the thirteenth day of the month Adar; and on the fourteenth day of the same rested they, and made it a day of feasting and gladness.”(Esther 9:17).

There is an Australian weapon called the boomerang, which when thrown properly follows a singular curve and returns back to the hand of the thrower. Simply, you throw a boomerang and it returns to you. The boomerang has become a symbol and figure of speech. It characterizes actions which go out today and return tomorrow, often with multiplied consequences!

Well, the Bible tells us about some boomerangs of which we need to be aware. Each of these has the amazing skill of returning to the one throwing it. From the text, the tables turned on the enemies on the thirteenth day of the month Adar, the very day they planned to overcome the Jews. The hunter now became the hunted as the Jews overpowered those who hated them. Mordecai, by a dramatic turn of event, became very powerful in the palace with growth of his reputation in all the provinces. After Haman was hanged openly in the city, Esther requested again for an extension to other evildoers which was granted by the king, enabling the Jews seal their victory by putting down all their enemies throughout the provinces.

This effectively turned their days of mourning into joy. The lesson here is that Haman’s evil plan was officially thwarted and brought to an end. And then, the next day’s campaign to solidify the security of the Jews throughout the kingdom was completed to confirm to all that the tables had turned. God is able to turn things around to favour His people. He is able to completely change a situation of oppression and utter despair into that of favour and overwhelming joy for His people. He is able to bring the wickedness of ungodly people upon their own heads, and set His people in positions of honour and authority.

Thought For The Day: the hunter becomes the hunted when the tables turn.

Topic: Rose-Colored Glasses and Magnifying Glasses [Friday January 5, 2018]

For if anyone thinks he is something [special] when [in fact] he is nothing [special except in his own eyes], he deceives himself. —Galatians 6:3

When we think and talk about what is wrong with everyone else, we are usually deceived about our own conduct. Jesus commanded that we not concern ourselves with what is wrong with others when we have so much wrong with ourselves (see Matthew 7:3-5).

The Bible clearly tells us that when we judge others, we often judge them for things that we also do!

I once asked God why we would do something ourselves and think it was perfectly alright but judge someone else who does it. The Lord spoke to my heart, saying, “Joyce, you look at yourself through rose-colored glasses, but you look at everyone else through a magnifying glass.”

It’s true! We make excuses for our own behavior, but when someone else does the same thing we do, we are often merciless.

I encourage you to reverse the process—assume the best in others, but keep your own life under the magnifying glass. Allow God to deal with you first, and then you will learn the scriptural way of helping others grow.

Prayer Starter:Holy Spirit, instead of examining the lives of others, I want You to help me examine my own life. I know that with Your help, I can correct the issues I have and find positive, healthy ways to help others grow as well.

Keep a sharp lookout! For you do not know when I will come. . . . Watch for my return! —Mark 13:35, 36 (TLB)

The great Dwight L. Moody used to say, “I never preached a sermon without thinking that possibly the Lord may come before I preach another.” Dr. G. Campbell Morgan, the distinguished British clergy-man, said, “I never begin my work in the morning without thinking that perhaps he may interrupt my work and begin His own. I am not looking for death. I am looking for Him.” That is the way a Christian should live his life – in the constant anticipation of the return of Jesus Christ!

If we could live every day as though it may be the very last one before the final judgment, what a difference it would make here on earth! But we don’t like to think that way. We don’t like to think that our carefully made plans, our long range schemes may be interrupted by the trumpet of God. Too many people would rather say, “Oh, well, the end of the world hasn’t come yet, so why think about it – it’s probably a thousand years away.”

Prayer for the day: Today might be the last day when Jesus returns. Cleanse me, Father.

Luke 1:37, "For with God nothing shall be impossible."

Text: Luke 1:26-38

What a statement! If we just believed this, how different our lives would be!

From birth we are trained to know our limitations. You can't have this. Don't touch that. Don't put things in your mouth. You can't touch the fire. On and on the list goes.

As we grow up, it's actually a sign of maturity to recognize our limitations and learn to live within them. There are limits to everything. It's a fact of life.

But God has no limits. When we enter into the realm of the supernatural, we have to take off all the limits. We have to renew our minds with the truth that God is not like us. He can do anything.

We have an awesome God whose power is so great that we can't even comprehend it. He created the universe and it didn't even tax His ability. Yet many times we find ourselves wondering if our situation is too hard for the Lord. We can't see how even God can pull us through.

The Lord said to Jeremiah, "Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?" (Jer. 32:27) The answer is a resounding NO! The only thing that limits God is our unbelief (Dt. 7:17). Today, let's honor God by believing that nothing is too difficult for Him.

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland’s Daily January 6, 2018 Devotional: Created to Praise

Topic: Created to Praise [Saturday January 6, 2018]

Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord. - Psalm 150:6

We're created to praise God. Some people don't know that. When the praise service starts, they sit back and say, "I'm not comfortable with all that singing and shouting. I guess praise is just not my thing."

Yes, it is! According to the Bible, if you breathe, you were meant to praise.

And don't try to slip by with saying, "Well, I have praise in my heart." That's not enough. The Word says you need to have it in your mouth as well (Psalms 34:1)! Psalm 132:9 says, "Let thy saints shout for joy." You can't shout and be quiet at the same time.

When you first begin to truly praise, it may seem awkward to you, but if you'll keep it up, it will become a way of life. Why? Because praise causes the glory of God to manifest in your life. It causes you to walk in the light of His countenance (Psalms 89:15). It will start a revival inside of you!

"But, Gloria, if I start to praise like that, people will think I'm some kind of fanatic."

Well, good! Did you know that every revival in history has been started by people the world considered absolute fanatics? God does things differently than the world. So when you set aside your inhibitions and start letting His Spirit operate through you, you're going to look strange to those who are strangers to His ways...but you're going to look glorious to the Lord!

And, by the way, don't just think of praising Him in the congregation. Praise Him in your own private prayer time and throughout your day. Learn to maintain an attitude of praise and thanksgiving. When praise becomes natural to you in your own private life, it won't be difficult to praise Him in the midst of the congregation.

Are you longing for a revival of God's presence in your life? Are you tired of just hearing about the glorious manifestations of His power in the past? Then open your mouth and your heart and do what God has created you to do. Praise!

Our Daily Bread 6 January 2018 Devotional – The Gift of the Magi

Topic: The Gift of the Magi — Saturday January 6, 2018.

Read: Matthew 2:1–12, Bible in a Year: Genesis 16–17; Matthew 5:27–48

We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him. Matthew 2:2

A young married couple had more love than money. As Christmas neared, both struggled to find a gift that would show how much they cared for the other. Finally, on Christmas Eve, Della sold her long, knee-length hair to buy Jim a platinum chain for the watch he’d inherited from his father and grandfather. Jim, however, had just sold the watch to buy a set of expensive combs for Della’s hair.

Author O. Henry called the couple’s story The Gift of the Magi. His creation suggests that even though their gifts became useless and may have caused them to look foolish on Christmas morning, their love made them among the wisest of those who give gifts.

The wise men of the first Christmas story also could have looked foolish to some as they arrived in Bethlehem with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh (Matthew 2:11). They weren’t Jewish. They were outsiders, Gentiles, who didn’t realize how much they would disturb the peace of Jerusalem by asking about a newly born king of the Jews (v. 2).

As with Jim and Della’s experience, the magi’s plans didn’t turn out the way they expected. But they gave what money cannot buy. They came with gifts, but then bowed to worship One who would ultimately make the greatest of all loving sacrifices for them—and for us.

Prayer: Father in heaven, please help us to learn what it means to give what money cannot buy.

God’s gift of grace is priceless.

Insight:

The gifts the magi brought were precious. But the worship they offered the King of Kings from bended knee and bowed head was of greater value than the material gifts.

How can you worship God today? J.R. Hudberg

“But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully”(2 Corinthians 9:6 (KJV)

One of the lies the devil is sowing in the hearts of believers today is the mentality that we live in the time of economic recession and so there is no need to stretch yourself when it comes to giving. The last time I checked the scripture, it says that in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth and there was nothing lacking. After the fall, man lost access to the resources and had to labour before he could eat. God said to him, from the sweat of thy brow shalt thou eat. (Genesis 3:19) This mentality of lack and shortage came because of the fall; before the fall man had access to the vast resources of the earth. The sweet Psalmist puts it this way in Psalms 24:1, “the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.” He continues in Psalm 50:10-11 by saying “for every beast of the forest is mine and the cattle upon a thousand hills. I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the fields are mine.” The God we serve owns it all and lacks nothing.

Beloved, the good news is that what we lost in Adam, we have gained back in Christ. The irony, however, is that in spite of our inheritance in Christ Jesus, a lot of us still operate with a shortage mentality and the result is that we are still penny-pinching. We refuse to give and as such we cannot receive all that God has ordained for us. The result is that the man who thinks lack and shortage will naturally withhold.

You must understand that giving is the way of God. God is the biggest giver. He gave His only begotten Son to die for the whole world. The wisdom of the world emphasizes receiving while the wisdom of God emphasizes giving. I come to challenge you to give Him your best anytime you have the opportunity. As you give cheerfully every time, expect Him to fill your barn and storehouses to overflow.

Seeds of Destiny 6 January 2018 by Pastor Paul Enenche: The Impact Of Vision

Topic: The Impact Of Vision [Saturday December 6, 2018]

Scripture: The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. Matthew 6:22

Thought For The Day: To see clearer is to run faster.

Yesterday, we saw what vision is all about. We also saw that one impact of vision is that it is fuel for motion in life.

Today, we shall consider other impacts of vision in the life of a person:

1. Vision is fuel for enthusiasm

Vision is the driver of a person’s life. Vision drives life. Life is a burden if it has no bearing. Life without vision equals frustration. Living a life without vision is having time without meaning; it is having time without knowing what to do with it. Life without vision equals age without change. So, when there is no vision, there is no enthusiasm to pursue anything in life.

2. Vision is a key to a life of focus

Men of vision are men of focus. Vision gives one the reason to do things. This is why a life without vision can be easily buried in distraction. For example, a young man without vision may decide to just follow someone else who is going to a place contrary to his schedule due to lack of focus. Everyone who has no vision is a victim of life’s distraction. If one does not know where one is going in life, every road appears to be the right road. If you do not have a vision for your life, someone else will give you their vision to run with.

3. Vision is a secret of speed

Seeing clearer is the secret of running faster. To see clearer is to run faster. That is why one would not be given a driver’s license if one has vision impairment. If you want your life to be faster than the way you are going now, then you must possess a clearer vision.

Sometime ago, we were travelling and our car had a dim head lamp. At nightfall, our movement was consequently arrested. We started moving slowly because we could not see clearly. Suddenly, a car with brighter light came from behind and flooded the road with light. It was then I realized that the road could be clearer than the way it was initially. Then I told my driver to queue behind the car with brighter light, and eventually we were able to move faster.

Beloved, my counsel is, endeavour to conceive a solid vision for your life in order to live with enthusiasm, clear focus and speed.

Remember This: To see clearer is to run faster.

Assignments:

1. Refuse to live a life without vision.

2. Write down your vision and make up your mind to pursue it.

Prayer: O Lord, I ask for a clear vision for living. Give me the grace to pursue my vision for living, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

Our Daily Manna January 6, 2018: ODM devotional: Pull Your Shoes Now!

Topic: Pull Your Shoes Now! [Saturday, January 6, 2018]

Basic Scripture: Exodus 3: 1-10

Welcome to this annual January 21-day prayer/fasting programme! John 14: 30 is a timely arrow pointer to start this 21-day JANUARY prayer journey. Jesus said: “Hereafter, I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in Me.” IF SATAN HAS HIS PROPERTIES IN YOU, HE WILL USE THEM AS THE LITTLE FOXES TO SPOIL YOUR VINE (your destiny) in this year 2018.

Remember that God appeared to MOSES as FIRE UPON A little, perishable bush. You are like that bush! You live is both HUMANITY (THE BUSH HAS ROOT IN SAND – your FLESH) and DIVINITY (THE FIRE UPON THAT BUSH – your spirit), but NEVER allow your HUMANITY (YOUR FLESH) to swallow up your divinity (YOUR SPIRIT). Don’t allow your humanity to block your divinity. Don’t allow that secret sin or sins to put of the FIRE of what your God wants to do in 2018.

Just as God told Moses, He is telling you on this first day of this WORLDWIDE fast: PUT OFF YOUR SHOES FROM OFF THY FEET, FOR WHERE THOU STANDETH (2018) IS HOLY! Oh, note this: THE PULLING OFF THOSE SHOES BROUGHT BEAUTY (DECORATION) FROM ASHES (DESECRATION, DISGRACE ANS SHAME) concerning Moses! He was a WANTED CRIMINAL! HE WAS O TH RUN! But JEHOVAH descended to DECORATE him and take him from shame! You shoes means your COMFORT and the SHOE-PULLING-OFF CEREMONY IS THE BEGINNING OF YOUR DECORATION STORY!

Your shoes mean the things you love to do when no one is watching! You SHOES mean your PRIZED POSSESSIONS like your family, your money, career, etc! Ask any shepherd in the desert/wilderness and they would tell you how PRECIOUS their shoes are because of the HEAT OF THE BURNING DESERT SAND. In fact, shepherds will prefer to pull off their shirts instead of their shoes! So, the LORD is saying to you now: PULL OFF THAT secret sin, that malice, fornication, adultery, lying, envy of others, gossip, etc, because the year has been allowed to step into is HOLY! Do you know that LACK OF FAITH IS ALSO A SIN?

Ah! See Romans 14: 23 now! No matter the delay of battle, you are experiencing despite your past fasting programmes or Prophetic Prayer Psalms after you seed sowing, REFUSE TO STOP NOW! Remember that the army General Naaman had to deep 7 times before his LEPROSY was disgraced!

Start And Complete the prophetic worldwide fast, sow your seed, be at the world anointing decoration night with a second dress you will tear like Elisha, after prophetic prayers that nigh! Inform others about this programme by making them read this with or giving them a copy of this booklet! They will be eternally grateful to you! This is your year!

Prayer Points: Take a song of worship as led now.

Thank God for today’s word and pray as you are led!

DCLM Daily Manna 6 January, 2018 by Pastor Kumuyi – Conquering Negative Traits

Topic: Conquering Negative Traits — Saturday January 6, 2018.

Text: Jonah 4:1-11

Key Verse: “And God said to Jonah, Doest thou well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry, even unto death.” (Jonah 4:9).

“I’ve had a few argument with people,” comedian Buddy Hackett once confessed, “but I never catty a grudge. You know why? While you’re carrying a grudge, they’re out dancing.”

From the text, forty days had passed and God’s judgment did not fall upon the city of Nineveh as prophesied by Jonah because they repented. God still requires repentance or complete turning away from and forsaking all sins, asking for forgiveness and cleansing through Christ and receiving Him as Saviour from everyone today. The repentance of Nineveh should have caused joy for Jonah as a missionary. Strangely, he was greatly disappointed. He had made himself a shady booth from which he could enjoy the spectacle of its destruction, perhaps like Sodom and Gomorrah. Jonah should have got a knock but the Lord overlooked his negativity and prepared a gourd to provide him a shed.

When it suddenly withered, exposing him to the terrible heat of the sun. his anger was aggravated. But God had taught him lessons on forgiveness and compassion. Jonah’s angry reaction to Nineveh’s repentance was ridiculous. God’s question to him should have served to call his attention to the utter sinfulness of his anger, which was a reflection of Israel’s pride and prejudice as a nation that made them assume that God owed them blessing and reserved judgment for their enemies. Inbred sins, like anger, jealousy, malice, etc. can be cleansed by the blood of Jesus through earnest prayer of faith. Saved and sanctified believers are filled with Christ-like love for all people. So, we must not shut the door of grace against those we label “unbelievers” but go out with a positive attitude to preach the message of salvation by grace through faith to them. And God will save them.

Thought For The Day: God is not selfish; His grace is for all: don’t hide or hoard His message of grace.
