DCLM Daily Manna 25 December, 2017 by Pastor Kumuyi - Beware Of False Prophets

Topic: Beware Of False Prophets — Monday December 25, 2017.

Text: Jeremiah 28:1-9

Key Verse:"The prophet which prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, that the LORD hath truly sent him"(Jeremiah 28:9).

The emergence of two prophets claiming to be of God but issuing contradictory messages was an embarrassing spectacle in the Bible which the Lord never failed to resolve decisively to teach us not to play pranks with His name. In this case, we have the false prophet Hananiah challenging Jeremiah, the true prophet and servant of God. Hananiah, claiming to report what God had told him, said the king of Babylon who had invaded Judah and exiled the children of Israel while desecrating the temple with the seizure of the holy vessels, would return all these in two years.

Now, this contradicted an earlier prophecy of God in Jeremiah 25:11,12 and later in Jeremiah 29:10 that the captivity would last 70 years. But strangely, Hananiah in announcing his own prophecy said: "Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel." What an audacity! The difference emanated from the fact that Hananiah sought to please the people and the king with his popular but untrue declaration while Jeremiah’s sole objective was to deliver the Lord’s message even if it was bitter and unpopular. The true messenger of God would cease to be representing the Owner of the message the moment he submits to the whims and caprices of his audience and forges lies. As it was at that time, so it is today. Many false prophets are out there deceiving and being deceived.

They lure unsuspecting people, including believers, away from the truth. Many of them are motivated by what to eat and allure of earthly riches. But they will never escape the judgment of God. Even so, these so-called prophets are sustained by the gullible with itching ears who prefer error to sound doctrine. If there arises a people whose devotion to the true word of God is sacrosanct and treat those who peddle falsehood with disdain, surely, the ranks of false prophets will dwindle.

Thought for the day: It’s foolhardy to walk and work against God.

Our Daily Bread 25 December 2017 Devotional – Traditions and Christmas

Topic: Traditions and Christmas — Monday December 25, 2017.

Read: Luke 2:1–10, Bible in a Year: Zephaniah 1–3; Revelation 16

I bring you good news that will cause great joy . . . a Savior has been born to you.Luke 2:10–11

As you savor a candy cane this Christmas, say “danke schön” to the Germans, for that confectionary treat was first created in Cologne. As you admire your poinsettia, say “gracias” to Mexico, where the plant originated. Say “merci beaucoup” to the French for the term noel, and give a “cheers” to the English for your mistletoe.

But as we enjoy our traditions and festivities of the Christmas season—customs that have been collected from around the world—let’s save our most sincere and heartfelt “thank you” for our good, merciful, and loving God. From Him came the reason for our Christmas celebration: the baby born in that Judean manger more than 2,000 years ago. An angel announced the arrival of this gift to mankind by saying, “I bring you good news that will cause great joy . . . a Savior has been born to you” (Luke 2:10–11).

This Christmas, even in the light of the sparkling Christmas tree and surrounded by newly opened presents, the true excitement comes when we turn our attention to the baby named Jesus, who came to “save his people from their sins” (Matt. 1:21). His birth transcends tradition: It is our central focus as we send praises to God for this indescribable Christmas gift.

Prayer: Lord, we thank You for coming to join us on that first Christmas. During a time of the year filled with many traditions, help us to keep You first.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him. Romans 15:13

Insight:

The angel Gabriel told Mary, “[Jesus] will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David” (Luke 1:32–33). The angel who appeared to Joseph said, “What is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. . . . [Y]ou are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins” (Matt. 1:20–21). Mary and Joseph knew Jesus would be the Messiah, and as faithful Jews they would have known the Messiah was to come from Bethlehem, David’s hometown. Perhaps when Joseph was ordered to Bethlehem for the census he thought, So that’s how God is going to get us to Bethlehem!

How does reflecting on the miraculous events that led to the birth of Jesus fill you with renewed awe and wonder?

Topic: It Will Surely Come! [Monday, December 25, 2017]

Basic Scripture: Habakkuk 2:1-8

Some years ago, a man and his wife were found dead after leaping to their death together as their New Year resolution and agreement in Hong Kong. They leaped from a four-story building in Hon Kong’s Tin Shui Wai district on New Year’s Day. In most cases in Hong Kong, couples that want to die together do so by burning charcoals in a sealed room, but this couple decided to die by leaping. The sad part of this story is not just that they died, but they decided to die on New Year’s Day!

Also, a study years ago by a Sociology Professor named David Philips, concluded this shocker: “There are more emergency department death on Christmas, the day after Christmas, and New Year’s Day than in any other day of the year.” Wow! A New Year is expected to be a time of new goals, re dedication or new beginnings, but for this couple, things were so bad that they felt that it was impossible for a solution to come. Sadly, many people are going rough times worldwide right now and even the rich also cry. The rate of suicide is increasing all over the developed and developing world. Endtime frustration is growing and it is happening in every continent. However, the Holy Ghost is sending me to you that no matter how 2017 has been, don’t believe that you problem is the worst and never believe that all hope is lost.

He told me that 2018 is your year of SPECIAL DECORATION! What will bring out your COAT OF MANY COLOURS is being planned and is about to hit you! That is why you must keep hope alive. That is God’s Word emphasis to you today: Keep hope alive. This year is ending but His plan for you have not ended at all! In fact, you are about to enter into a NEW PHASE! You would not have seen the end of this year and another Christmas day, if God has finished with you! That you are alive to see another Christmas and end of year shows that your best days are still ahead and the devil is in big trouble! Oh! There is a solution coming! our daily manna prayer points

THERE IS A SOLUTION COMING! There will beauty for ashes and there will be dancing for mourning! No situation is hopeless and nothing in the world can take the place of patience. Habakkuk 2:3 declares; “though it tarries, wait for it, because it will surely come.” Believe God and note the word, “SURELY.” For anything worth having, we must pay the price and the price is always work, patience, love and self-sacrifices. A surprise package with your name on it has just been sent from heaven! Merry Christmas to you and family! Wait! Hold on!

Prayer Points: Take song: Because He Lives …

1. I refuse to worry or be anxious concerning this problem (mention any issue of great concern to you now). Begin to thank God for your GREAT AND COLOURFUL FUTURE!

2. I totally reject the power of death and discouragement.

3. As 2017 ends, I shall not hide under drugs, alcohol or depression. Lord, help me! Pray about today and the New Year.

Becoming A ‘Help Meet’ (4) by Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Topic — Becoming A ‘Help Meet’ (4)

Dear Reader,

Merry Christmas to you! The festive season is here again, it is my prayer that you receive the special package God has ordained for this season! By now, I believe you have been able to ascertain your position as a ‘help meet’ and to locate the area where you might have been hurting instead of helping your spouse. If you have not done that, I want you to do so right now, and ask God for grace to be a true help meet.

Today, I shall be teaching on Operating in Wisdom as a ‘Help Meet.’

Marriage can be likened to a house, and every house is built by men, using certain building materials. Wisdom is a good quality material for building your marriage and home.  The Bible says: Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established (Proverbs 24:3).

What then, is wisdom? It is knowing which way to go, how to handle situations and make them produce your desired results. Wisdom is knowing how to make it in life. When you know how to make things work in your family, you are walking in wisdom. Wisdom is also the correct application of knowledge. So, before you can walk in wisdom, you must locate the knowledge of the Word of God. You cannot blame God or anyone else for what your home looks like. The Word of God says: Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands (Proverbs 14:1).

God in His infinite wisdom has planned one man for one woman. Every woman in God’s design has her own home. However, what becomes of that home depends on the woman. This appears to be an awesome responsibility, but by the grace of God and hard work, it is accomplishable!

The Bible records the story of a woman, Abigail, who operated in wisdom and understanding. She took a wise step that changed the mind of David from committing murder, as seen in 1 Samuel 25.

You have a responsibility to engage wisdom whenever your husband takes a wrong decision that can affect your generation.  If your husband has certain weaknesses that you are strong in, appreciate his good points but point out his mistakes in a kind and gentle way.

You need wisdom as a ‘help meet’ to know “when” and “what” to say at the right time. Take the example of a woman whose husband is just returning from work, tired. Immediately after welcoming him, she announces to him not to expect any food, because there is nothing in the house. Are you wondering why he gets very angry?  Remember, “A hungry man is an angry man”! It may be true that there is no food in the house, but it was said in the wrong way, the wrong time, and the wrong place. It is foolishness to say things just at any time (Proverbs 29:11).

However, a wise woman still says what is in her heart, but she knows when and where to say it. Whenever there is a matter you want to resolve, locate the right place and time. It is not when your husband is hungry or tired and definitely not in the presence of his colleagues.

Wisdom can be reflected in the way you speak. Some women talk to their husbands rudely, using derogatory words. That is very wrong! You can convey your message or indifference by your choice of words. By speaking right and gracious words, you will draw your husband closer.

A sister said she had always encountered difficulties in her home, because she could not control her tongue. Here is her testimony:

“When I was ready for marriage, I noticed that some things were working against me.  But I was not a serious Christian then. However, when I dedicated my life fully to Jesus Christ in 1992, it became obvious that I lacked wisdom, counsel and was emotionally immature. All the same, I got married and the Lord has been merciful.

Nevertheless, on joining this church, from the different ministrations I received, my life and marriage received direction. Now, I am free from all manner of oppressions of the wicked. My family has been increased remarkably and I now apply myself to the wisdom of God that has been imparted!” – Opera, C. N.

Words can be correctly used to bring you favour with your spouse. Without doubt, right words spoken at the right time are of great value. In presenting an issue, your approach is very important. For instance, your approach may be right, but your tone could be demoralising. In most cases, friction in families, is as a result of saying the right thing at the wrong time, wrong place, or wrong tone. There is a due season for every word spoken!

However, it takes wisdom to speak right words and discern due season. Wisdom is the heritage of those born again. To become born again, you need to confess your sins and accept Jesus into your life as your Lord and personal Saviour. This grace is made available, by accepting Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour. If you are ready to receive grace, please say this prayer of faith: Dear Lord, I come to You today.  I am a sinner.  Forgive me of my sins.  Cleanse me with Your precious Blood.  I accept You as my Lord and Saviour.  Now I know I am born again!

Congratulations! You are now born again! All-round rest and peace are guaranteed you, in Jesus’ Name! Call or write, and share your testimonies with me through contact@faithoyedepo.org or08141320204, 07026385437.

Joyce Meyer's Daily 25 December 2017 Devotional: Be Generous and Cheerful

Topic: Be Generous and Cheerful [Monday December 25, 2017]

So that you may surely learn to sense what is vital, and approve and prize what is excellent and of real value [recognizing the highest and the best, and distinguishing the moral differences], and that you may be untainted and pure and unerring and blameless [so that with hearts sincere and certain and unsullied, you may approach] the day of Christ [not stumbling nor causing others to stumble]. Philippians 1:10

As Christians, we should be generous people, giving whatever we can whenever we can.  And that doesn't just mean money—we can give help, encouragement, time, talents and forgiveness.

This means we can't let selfishness get in the way. A lot of people are stingy, clinging to what they have and afraid to give it up. Others aren't stingy in their actions, but they are stingy in their hearts, giving because they feel obligated, not because they really want to. But this isn't the way God calls us to give.

Second Corinthians 9:7 tells us, God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, “prompt to do it”) giver [whose heart is in his giving].

If you think about it, when we give our lives to God, everything we have is His anyway—it no longer belongs to us. We should be givers, using our resources the way He wants us to.

Give cheerfully today. It pleases God, and those who give cheerfully are happy, fulfilled, and highly effective.

Prayer Starter: God, I make up my mind purpose in my heart right now to be a cheerful giver. Show me how I can generously give to You and the people in my life today.

Memorise:The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. Proverbs 31:11

Read: Proverbs 18:22-24 (KJV)

22 Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.

23 The poor useth intreaties; but the rich answereth roughly.

24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Bible in One Year: Proverbs 28-31, Zachariah 13:7-14:9, Hymn: Sing Hymn 16: God Give Us Christian Homes

MESSAGE:

On the 23rd of this month, the Lord took us to the beginning of His creation to learn that companionship is one major reason why He established the institution of marriage (Genesis 2:18). God does not want adults to be alone. After marriage, some people refuse to stay in the company of their spouse, giving excuse such as not being “compatible” with their spouse. If you knew you were not compatible with your spouse, why did you venture into marriage with him or her in the first place? Sometimes, the untold underlying reason behind this incompatibility is the gap in educational qualifications, social status or financial power of the couple. In such case, God expects that the one in the advantage position in the relationship would assist the other to climb up until the gap is bridged. Your wife is your number-one companion. Some men are always in the company of other women. This is a violation of God’s law on companionship.

Moreover, another reason why God established marriage is to raise a permanent helper for the man and vice versa. The term “help meet” used in Genesis 2:18 refers to adequate and appropriate help. In other words, if you obtain your wife or husband from God, you can be assured that God has given you an appropriate destiny helper. Do you know that the fortunes of some people improve tremendously after marriage? Adam could say he had a helpmate because Eve was the bone of his bone, and the flesh of his flesh (Genesis 2:21-23). If you marry the right woman God has for you, favour will suddenly reside in your home (Proverbs 18:22). She will prevent waste of resources in your home and load you with good throughout your lifetime (Proverbs 31:11). This also applies to a woman who marries the right husband. For this reason, it is very important to go to God for your spouse, like Adam received Eve from God. If you get a spouse from God as His child, it enhances your prospects of making Heaven (1 Kings 21:25). However, if you get your spouse from friends, relations, computerized match-making services, date clubs, or by your own self will, you may be getting a destroyer instead of a helper. When you have the right man as a husband, he will be a crown over you and help you become what God has in store for you. Help is reciprocal. The reason why some people were plunged into ‘hell” from the day their marriage started is because they refused to go to the Creator for Him to help them take that crucial decision that has the potential of determining lives and destinies.

Action Point: To make the right decision on who to marry, go to the Creator of all men for help, and He will surely lead you to the right person for you. He knows all people and the contents of their hearts.

Hymn 16: God Give Us Christian Homes

1. God give us Christian homes!
Homes where the Bible is loved and taught,
Homes where the Master’s will is sought,
Homes crowned with beauty Your love has wrought;
God give us Christian homes;
God give us Christian homes!

2. God give us Christian homes!
Homes where the father is true and strong,
Homes that are free from the blight of wrong,
Homes that are joyous with love and song;
God give us Christian homes;
God give us Christian homes!

3. God give us Christian homes!
Homes where the mother, in caring quest,
Strives to show others Your way is best,
Homes where the Lord is an honored guest;
God give us Christian homes;
God give us Christian homes!

4. God give us Christian homes!
Homes where the children are led to know
Christ in His beauty who loves them so,
Homes where the altar fires burn and glow;
God give us Christian homes;
God give us Christian homes!

Text: Judges 2:1-10

Key Verse: "And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this?"(Judges 2:2).

The passage introduces us to the distressing life in Israel in the generations that came after Joshua following the settlement of the Israelites in the Promised Land. It was a cycle of sin, judgment and repentance, and then another round of transgression, punishment and remorse.

These cases of recurring apostasy leading to oppression at the hands of their enemies were however not God’s plan because He made this agreement with their patriarch Abraham in Genesis 17:7: "I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee." While God kept His side of the pact, Israel did not. Rather than destroy the inhabitants and idols of Canaan whom they met there, they retained them. These became a snare unto them, leading them to disobey God, their Redeemer.

The Lord commanded Israel to teach her children and future generations which would occupy Canaan all His statutes. But they did not comply and the consequence was clear: "And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel" (Judges 2:10). A generation guided by the laws of God ought not to depart without passing His word to the next generation.

Christian families must not leave the duty of imparting biblical values in the hands of the society or schools. It is the primary responsibility of believing parents to relentlessly teach their children the ways of God. The home should be their first Church where they learn about the love of God and how to reverence Him. When they see their Christian parents, they will see the love of God radiating in them and be convinced to emulate them.

Thought for the day: Parents are the representatives of God in the family.

Seeds of Destiny 26 December 2017 by Pastor Paul Enenche: Escaping Satanic Traps

Topic: Escaping Satanic Traps [Tuesday December 26, 2017]

Scripture: He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. Daniel 3:25

Thought For The Day: God is the only reason your mother’s womb didn’t become your tomb.

A trap connotes a device or an enclosure designed to catch preys. It is also a trick or arrangement designed to catch someone.

It is confirmed that we are in times where there are all manner of satanic or devilish traps, but God is committed to rescuing His children. The more satan set traps for people, the more God devises ways of escape for His children.

The truth is, there were several traps God delivered you from that you are not even aware of. God was the reason your mother’s womb did not become your tomb; He was the reason you were not buried in that accident that claimed other people’s lives.

There is someone reading this devotional right now, you have been wondering and asking, ‘Does God really love me? If He does, why all these battles around my life?’ You may even have contemplated suicide. But beloved, God has asked me to tell you that He loves you more than you think or know. His love for you is everlasting. He is the only reason you are alive today. He is the reason you have not lost your mind despite the devices of the enemy.

Today, by the mantle of God upon my life, I prophesy your total escape from every satanic trap that has entangled your life and destiny. I decree your freedom from every trap or entanglement of infirmity, poverty, death, discouragement and frustration in Jesus’ Name.

Remember This: God was the reason your mother’s womb did not become your tomb.

Assignments:

1. Determine to align yourself with the Will of God for your life. When you do His will, you win

2. Believe God’s Word and His ability to deliver you always.

Prayer: Lord, I ask that You deliver me and my loved ones from every trap of the enemy, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

Today In History: December 26th – Boxing Day in the United Kingdom and many other countries, a day of gift giving when boxes of food, clothing and other gifts are traditionally given to employees, tradespeople and other service providers.

Today’s devotional was written by Pastor Paul Enenche of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), headquartered at Abuja, Nigeria, with Pastor Paul and Becky Enenche, as the Senior Pastors. For [the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father! - Romans 8:15, The Amplified Bible

One night after a worship service a friend of mine and I stepped outside and were suddenly awed by the beauty around us. It was one of those crisp, clear winter nights when the brilliance of the moon and stars nearly takes your breath away. I said to my friend, "Tommy, will you look at that!" Then he looked up with one of those Holy Ghost whole-face smiles and with a voice full of tenderness said, "My Daddy made that!"

"My Daddy...." I'll never forget the way he said that.

Some people might think he shouldn't have been talking in such familiar terms about God, but they'd be wrong. It's scriptural to talk that way about Him. The Aramaic word for father—Abba—is used several times in the New Testament. The most accurate translation for that word in English is "Daddy." It's a word that signifies closeness. It speaks of a relationship that's been developed through time spent together.

"Father" is one thing. "Daddy" is another.

Growing up, my father was sometimes my "Father" and sometimes my "Daddy." When we were out duck hunting, he was "Daddy." When he gave commands he meant to be obeyed instantly, he was "Father."

God is like that too. He's your Father and He's your Daddy. There are times you'll be very serious and down to business with one another. Other times you'll be more lighthearted. But either way, once you fellowship with Him enough to get to know Him, I guarantee, you'll want to be close to Him all the time.

Read: Matthew 17:24–27, Bible in a Year: Haggai 1–2; Revelation 17

My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

When Andrew Cheatle lost his cell phone at the beach, he thought it was gone forever. About a week later, however, fisherman Glen Kerley called him. He had pulled Cheatle’s phone, still functional after it dried, out of a 25-pound cod.

Life is full of odd stories, and we find more than a few of them in the Bible. One day tax collectors came to Peter demanding to know, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the temple tax?” (Matt. 17:24). Jesus turned the situation into a teaching moment. He wanted Peter to understand His role as king. Taxes weren’t collected from the children of the king, and the Lord made it clear that neither He nor His children owed any temple tax (vv. 25–26).

Yet Jesus wanted to be careful not to “cause offense” (v. 27), so He told Peter to go fishing. (This is the odd part of the story.) Peter found a coin in the mouth of the first fish he caught.

What on earth is Jesus doing here? A better question is, “What in God’s kingdom is Jesus doing?” He is the rightful King—even when many do not recognize Him as such. When we accept His role as Lord in our lives, we become His children.

Life will still throw its various demands at us, but Jesus will provide for us. As former pastor David Pompo put it, “When we’re fishing for our Father, we can depend on Him for all we need.”

Prayer: Lord, teach us to bask in the wonderful realization that You provide everything we need.

We are children of the King!

Insight:

People in Jesus’s day worried over the basic necessities of food, clothing, and shelter just as we do. But Jesus assures us of God’s care and provision by pointing us to His constant providential care for all the earth. Because we are more precious to God than all of creation (Matt. 6:25–30), Jesus reminds us, “Do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ . . . Your heavenly Father knows that you need [these things]” (vv. 31–32). Because we have a heavenly Father who loves and cares for us deeply, we can ask Him to give us what we need (7:9–11; 1 Peter 5:7). Paul encourages us to replace our anxieties with expectant trust and grateful prayer. The peace of God is the inner calm or tranquility that comes from a confident trust in God who hears our cries (Phil. 4:6–7).

Blessed is the man who trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. — Jeremiah 17:7

The Scriptures predict that a new day is coming. There will be a golden age of prosperity when all perplexing problems-religious, social, or political-will find their complete solution. It will be a marvelous time for this mixed-up world. However, the Bible teaches that man will not bring about this coming golden age. Man alone cannot. The flaw in human nature is too great. Man has no ability to repair this damaged planet. God is our only hope! His plans are already formed, and they are perfectly stated in the Scriptures.

Prayer for the day: All my hope and plans are laid at Your feet, Lord Jesus.

Topic: Be Single-Minded [Tuesday December 26, 2017]

John 21:21 "Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?"

Jesus had just told Peter to follow Him. However, Peter wanted to know what the Lord had planned for John. Instead of Jesus answering Peter's question, the Lord told him that what He had in store for John was none of his business.

Satan diverts many people by getting them preoccupied with what others are doing for the Lord. Comparing ourselves with others, whether we come out better or worse, is unwise (2 Cor. 10:12). We need to be so single-minded following the Lord, that we don't look to the right or to the left to see what others are doing. It doesn't matter if we are doing as much to serve the Lord as someone else. The question is, are we doing all that the Lord wants us to do?

Singleness of purpose and vision is a necessity to victorious Christian living. James said that if we try to master many things we will fail (Jas. 3:1). We have to set priorities and focus on them.

The scriptures teach that memory can be a powerful force for good in our lives. It is always good to remind ourselves that we were once apart from God's saving grace. It is an antidote against pride and self-righteousness. A person who remembers what he used to be will have a clearer understanding of who he is now. We have to cultivate our memories by meditating on the great things God has done for us and spoken to us.

‘’And they told him, and said, we came unto the land wither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey: and this is the fruit of it’’. - Numbers 13:27

When God told Moses and the people that He had given them Jericho, He didn’t tell them about the giants, but about the land flowing with milk and honey. He wanted them to see the milk and honey and not the giants. Out of the twelve (12) spies that were sent, ten (10) came back and said they saw themselves as grasshoppers, while only two (2) believed in what God said and refused to see the giants.

Beloved, when you see what God has spoken about your life, it has a way of motivating you and making you look fresh. How do you think Sarah remained young and fresh even after she had passed the age of childbearing? She remained fresh because in her heart she began to see herself as the mother of nations. The scripture says she received strength to conceive that means her body had no choice than to change.

For as long as you see yourself in the light, of what God has said concerning you, no matter the storm, it will not stop you because you are seeing what God told you. Put on your imagination and picture in your mind what your miracle will look like. If you can see it, you can have it.

The Bible is a book of pictures; access it to see your picture. Do not believe the lie that your body is telling you, go into the word and look at your picture. The two spies saw the grapes and they believed the land was theirs. The picture of the grapes never left their hearts until the day they possessed the land. Let the picture of where God is taking you to fill your mind and heart. That picture will help you to endure whatever comes your way.

My prayer is that every picture of elevation and advancement in your heart will come to manifestation in Jesus name. Amen.

Family Dominion, How Possible? (4) by Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Topic — Family Dominion, How Possible? (4)

Dear Reader,

I started this series by examining how obedience to God’s Word empowers you and your family for dominion. I also explained how you can live peacefully with your people and equally examined how you can enjoy rest in your family.

Today, I shall be teaching on Keeping the Right Company. God’s will is that you succeed and be in charge (dominion) in your family life; but there are vices you need to guard against.

There is dignity in marriage, but it takes the right character to attract it. Character commands unction which in turn commands dignity. The reason for the failure of most marriages and families is character crisis. Good character fosters family dominion which depends largely on the company you keep.

It is impossible to amount to anything outside the company you keep. You cannot expect to live a better life than your companions. This explains why Proverbs 13:20 says: He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

Family friends can be defined as persons with whom you and your family relate intimately with. They are people you identify with, share common experiences and bare your mind to. This simple definition of family friend shows that not everyone is a friend. That is why you need wisdom through God’s Word in selecting who your friends should be.

Whosoever keeps company with the wise will be wise; the companions of fools will not only be foolish, but will ultimately be destroyed. Also, the friend of the unrighteous will ultimately become unrighteous to the detriment of his family. As a Christian, do not fail to understand that you cannot flow together with just anybody, simply because they make themselves friendly.

You cannot be a Christian, while your family friend is an unbeliever; a smoker, adulterer, drunkard, gossip or a backbiter. What companionship do you have with an unbeliever? Anyone who is lacking in Christian character should never be your family friend.

God’s instruction in 2 Thessalonians 3:6 is worthy of note: …that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly… Many call themselves family friends but are not disciplined to refrain from certain habits. I believe that the choice of your family friend does not only affect the future of your family but it could also determine the success (dominion) or failure of your marriage. Hence, your family’s vision, goal or target in life should determine your choice of family friends.

As a born again Christian who desires an enviable family, you must make up your mind to dissociate yourself from every friend that thinks or talks contrary to God’s Word. Choose to have godly family friends and your marital life will be moulded. May God bring you in contact with friends that will skyrocket you and your family to your place in destiny! May you never keep a company that will keep you away from God and rob your family of its dominion!

Note that the company you keep either makes or breaks your family; definitely, it does not leave you neutral. It was a friend that made Amnon, David’s son, to commit incest (2 Samuel 13:1-4). He later paid with his life, for the wrong company he kept.

Most couples, who find themselves in all forms of evil today, got into them via wrong company. One major reason couples are enticed to keep the wrong company is because they are not bold enough to identify with the Lord Jesus Christ. Let people know your stand for God; go to Church together, pray together and engage in Gospel programmes together.

The Bible says: Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people (Proverbs 14:34). This simply means that righteousness or right standing with God will bring about dominion. Therefore, for your family to enjoy dominion, it must have a right standing with God. This depends on each and every member of the family.

If you are indecisive as to who to pick as your family friend, ask God in prayer and He will give you direction. Disallow your spouse and children from keeping the wrong company. This is because the effect of the company any member of the family keeps will sooner or later affect the entire family. Your marriage and family will succeed in Jesus’ name!

Are you born again? If you are not, then you don’t have genuine access to operate the mind of Christ that will help you make the right choices of family friends (1 Corinthians 2:16). If you want to be born again, please say this prayer in faith: Dear Lord, I come to You today.  I am a sinner.  Forgive me of my sins.  Cleanse me with Your precious Blood.  I accept You as my Lord and Saviour.  Now I know I am born again!

Congratulations, that’s it! You are now born again. Call or write, and share your testimonies with me through contact@faithoyedepo.org or 08141320204, 07026385437.

Memorise: And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.Malachi 2:15

Read: Malachi 2:14-15 (KJV)

14 Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.

15 And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.

Bible in One Year: Ecclesiastes 1-3, Zachariah 14:10-21, Hymn: Sing Hymn 16: God Give Us Christian Homes

MESSAGE:

Marriage between a man and a woman is approved by God. Besides companionship and receiving a life-time helper, another reason why God established marriage is for the continuity of the human race. Genesis 1:28 says,

“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”

After creation, God blessed man to be fruitful, to multiply and refill the earth. Similarly, in Genesis 9:1, after the great flood that wiped out all of mankind except Noah and his family, God pronounced the same blessing on them. Beloved, God loves fruitfulness, and that is one reason why He instituted marriage. He wants the human race to multiply and spread all over the earth. His desire is for the earth to be subdued and dominated by man whom He has created in His own image. However, this does not justify raising a family without planning for it. If you are married, you and your spouse should prayerfully decide how many children you would add to populate the earth. Never bring children you are not able or prepared to take care of into this world.

While God wants all of mankind to multiply, He particularly wants those who are His own to bring forth godly seeds. In order words, while regular inhabitants of the earth are reproducing and adding to the world’s general population, believers are expected to raise godly seeds that would later reach out to the rest of the world. In today’s Bible reading, the Lord plainly stated that He allowed His children to marry so as to produce special children: a godly breed. God wants children who meet ‘heaven’s specifications’ from the homes of His people. Can He say that He has found them in your own home? Not every Christian family can raise these special breed of children, even though they have the potential to. It takes a deliberate collaborative effort between the Holy Spirit and parents to raise children who meet God’s specification of a godly seed. These are heaven-bound children who will walk closely with the Holy Spirit in their lifetime. Their foundations are laid in God’s word and doctrine. They are grounded in the knowledge of God and are carriers of His light. May God help us raise godly seed for His glory in Jesus’ Name.

Key Point: Christian couples should not just trust God for babies but for godly seeds.

Hymn 16: God Give Us Christian Homes

1. God give us Christian homes!
Homes where the Bible is loved and taught,
Homes where the Master’s will is sought,
Homes crowned with beauty Your love has wrought;
God give us Christian homes;
God give us Christian homes!

2. God give us Christian homes!
Homes where the father is true and strong,
Homes that are free from the blight of wrong,
Homes that are joyous with love and song;
God give us Christian homes;
God give us Christian homes!

3. God give us Christian homes!
Homes where the mother, in caring quest,
Strives to show others Your way is best,
Homes where the Lord is an honored guest;
God give us Christian homes;
God give us Christian homes!

4. God give us Christian homes!
Homes where the children are led to know
Christ in His beauty who loves them so,
Homes where the altar fires burn and glow;
God give us Christian homes;
God give us Christian homes!

Seeds of Destiny 27 December 2017 by Pastor Paul Enenche: Appreciation- Key To Preservation

Topic: Appreciation- Key To Preservation [Wednesday December 27, 2017]

Scripture:David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine... 1 Samuel 17:37

Thought For The Day: When you appreciate God for past victories, He fights and buries your enemies even without you knowing.

Appreciation is an act of expressing one’s gratitude for a favour or kindness received from others. From our anchor scripture above, when David was confronted by Goliath, he began to testify of the past deliverances of God in his life.

Personally, from time to time, I appreciate God for the number of times I came face to face with death that He delivered me. They are numerous. There was a time I travelled to a country in southern Africa and gunmen followed us from the airport and tried to open fire at us. By drastic Divine intervention, we passed through the midst of them and went our way unhurt.
I have had many ghastly road traffic accidents, some were even fatal, but the Lord delivered me from all of them. So, from time to time I recount many of such deliverances God gave me just to appreciate Him.

The truth is, when you appreciate God for past victories, He would handle your battles even before they arrive. He would fight and bury your enemies even before they attempt to hurt you. If God should open the eyes of your spirit and you see the number of witches, wizards and the wicked people He wasted in order to keep you alive, you would be shocked.

Let us appreciate God as frequently as possible for past deliverances and interventions; it is key to future protection and preservation.

Remember This: When you appreciate God for past victories, He fights and buries your enemies even without you knowing.

Assignment(S):

1. Never take the acts of God in your life for granted.

2. Deeply and sincerely appreciate God for His faithfulness.

Prayer: O LORD, help me not to take Your acts in my for granted. I take total delivery of Your preservation agenda for my life in this season, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

Text: Matthew 5:21-26

Key Verse: "But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire."(Matthew 5:22).

A temperamental monk always passed the buck for his fits of anger: his habit was to blame his fellow monastery residents. Finally, he decided to go to a place of complete quietness in the desert. He assumed that if he was left alone, he would be free. One morning as he was alone to himself and solitude, the monk accidentally knocked over a pitcher of water.

He ignored the incident. But when he ran into it again later, the pitcher fell on its side and spilled its contents. In anger, the monk picked up the water container and broke it into pieces. That was when the truth hit him: he could not be blaming others for his flare-ups. It was a problem caused by a storm within. It could only be tamed by a power from outside. Anger, says Jesus Christ, is only a step away from the danger of hell fire. God will not accept the work of a believer who is prone to anger and tantrums in his relationship with his brother, wife, friends or brethren.

Indeed, the Lord says, if there is an offering of work for us in His vineyard, we should stay away from the service and settle matters arising from angry outbursts before appearing before Him. Back in the Old Testament, the Lord says in Proverbs 22:24, 25: "Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shall not go: lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul." The Lord does not desire the "leaven" of the sin of anger to swell the assembly of the saints, hence that warning.

Jesus reveals that anger is related to murder which, God declares, we should not commit (Exodus 20:13). Anger violates God’s law on love and without which we cannot please Him. Genuine salvation and sanctification are the antidote to anger and make us possess Christ-like love and gentleness.

Thought for the day: Courting anger is an express passport to hell.

Read: Psalm 117, Bible in a Year: Zechariah 1–4; Revelation 18

Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. Psalm 117:1

When I was a new believer in Jesus, a spiritual mentor encouraged me to keep a thanks journal. It was a little booklet I carried with me everywhere I went. Sometimes I would record a thanksgiving right away. Other times, I would pen it at the end of the week during a time of reflection.

Taking note of praise items is a good habit—one I’m considering re-establishing in my life. It would help me to be mindful of God’s presence and grateful for His provision and care.

In the shortest of all the psalms, Psalm 117, the writer encourages everyone to praise the Lord because “great is his love toward us” (v. 2).

Think about it: How has the Lord shown His love toward you today, this week, this month, and this year? Don’t just look for the spectacular. His love is seen in the ordinary, everyday circumstances of life. Then consider how He has shown His love toward your family, your church, and to others. Let your mind soak up the extent of His love for all of us.

The psalmist added that “the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever” (v. 2 emphasis added). In other words, He will continue to love us! So we will continue to have many things to praise God for in the coming days. As His dearly loved children, may praising and thanking God characterize our lives!

Prayer:Father, if we were to record all of Your blessings, we could not complete the task in a lifetime. But we can pause this moment to say a simple “Thank You” for Your faithfulness and goodness.

Remember to thank God for the ordinary as well as the extraordinary.

Insight:

Have you noticed how hard it can be to be thankful when we are focused on what has been withheld from us? Our first parents, Adam and Eve, were probably content until they were led to believe that God was holding out on them.

Many generations later, the family of Israel struggled with contentment and thankfulness during their journey to the Promised Land. God gave them the annual celebration of Passover to help them remember their wonder-filled rescue from slavery in Egypt. In a group of songs known as the Egyptian Hallel (Pss. 113–118) they reminded one another to “give thanks to the Lord” for His faithful acts of love that fill the earth and endure forever (118:1). Those words aren’t just for God’s chosen people, Israel. In Psalm 117, the shortest of all of their national psalms, Israel invites the nations of the world to join with them in their songs of thanksgiving for God’s goodness and miraculous acts of rescue.

Together we are all still learning to thank God—not for everything that has happened to us—but rather that, in everything, our good God is with us. Mart DeHaan

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. - Romans 12:2

Be not conformed to this world. If you live like the world, you'll be overcome by the world. It's as simple as that. So don't let the world squeeze you into its own mold.

Instead "...be transformed" by the entire renewal of your mind. Overcome the world by having your mind transformed to think like God thinks. In other words, when you see something in the Word, say, "I agree with that. From now on I'm acting on that instead of what I used to think."

For example, when sin calls your name, don't answer. Agree with the Word instead and say, "I'm dead to that, Devil. You can't pull me into it anymore!"

As you do that, you'll find yourself changing. You will find yourself living like a world overcomer!

Billy Graham’s Daily 27 December 2017 Devotional: Find Peace With God

Topic: Find Peace With God [Wednesday December 27, 2017]

The Lord will bless his people with peace. — Psalm 29:11

How do we find peace with God? We must stop fighting! We must surrender! We must serve! Of course, these steps will be motivated by faith and mingled with love. Having found peace with God, next we experience the peace of God.

This peace of God is not a mere abstraction advocated by preachers and theologians. Thousands of people can witness that they have actually experienced the peace of God and have found it wonderfully adequate for this present day. “For He is our peace.”

Prayer for the day: Father, I thank You for the peace You have given to me, which does not depend on feelings or circumstances.
