Andrew Wommack’s Daily 1 January 2018 Devotional: Jesus Was God

Topic: Jesus Was God [Monday January 1, 2018]

John 1:1, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

Text: Luke 1:1-4; John 1:1-18

Jesus was not just a man sent from God, He was God.

This is the most important statement of the New Testament. On this truth hangs all other truths.

If Jesus was only a man, then regardless of how good He was, His life could only provide a substitute for one other man. But since He was God, His life was worth more than every human life since creation. Indeed it was worth more than the sum total of the universe that He created.

Any compromise on this point will negate the work of Christ in our lives. Jesus was God manifest in the flesh (1 Tim. 3:16)! Yet this Almighty God came to dwell in a human body. He humbled Himself and took the form of a servant (Phil. 2:7).

Christ's humanity truly made Him one of us. He suffered the same temptations and pressures that we suffer (Heb. 4:15). It was His divinity, however, that gave Him the power to save us to the max (Heb. 7:25). We must never let His humanity blind us to the fact that Almighty God Himself became our friend (Jn. 15:13-15). And we must never let His divinity blind us to the fact that He knows exactly how we feel and cares for us.

Let the Holy Spirit give you a true revelation of the deity and humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ throughout this new year.

Topic — Becoming A ‘Help Meet’ (5)

Dear Reader,

We have been examining what it means to be a help meet and the various roles that are expected to be fulfilled in order to be an effective one. Today, I will be showing you some of the benefits you stand to gain in return.

God’s Word in Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 says: Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.  For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.  Again, if two lie together then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Helping each other ensures a continuous flow of “good rewards”. These rewards cover every area of life and most of them are priceless.  One of such rewards is Unity.  When assistance is given on both sides, couples will be drawn closer.  Even children will also benefit from this attitude and every trace of division, tension and discomfort will be absent.

Unity in itself will give birth to a higher level of intimacy, friendship and togetherness between the couple. When there is peace at home, there will be peace everywhere. No matter the pressure at work, school, market or anywhere else outside, you will not be weighed down because you know you have a shoulder to lean on at home.  You have a suitable help at home, who will listen to you and encourage you enough to face the work again the next day. The thought of knowing that your success is your spouse’s concern is reassuring enough.

Another benefit of helping each other is a guaranteed Lifting. This means promotion and constant success in whatever you do. It means that your obedience to the Word of God makes you a ‘help meet’ to your spouse, which in turn exposes you to all kinds of blessings from God as written in Psalm 75:6-7: For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

So, the usual complaint of “nothing is working” is replaced with constant success, just by being a suitable help to your spouse. This is so, as your help will make your spouse constantly lift you up in prayers that are answered by God.

Rendering suitable assistance also blesses with Security. This is what the words “heat” and “warmth” mean.  It means you will enjoy protection, safety and security that money cannot buy.  Even in the natural world, a form of warmth is enjoyed when two people lie together; a kind of force is also achieved when you both work together at achieving a purpose and speed is gained. Much more is achieved in a shorter period of time.

The word “warmth” also means that genuine care for one another is experienced when you both become ‘help meet’ to each other. It is true that the head is very important, but a head without a body is equally useless. When the head and the body are in place, the beauty of the human anatomy will be clearly seen by all.

The benefits of being a help to your spouse are immeasurable. It is a cheap way of keeping your relationship, marriage, home and family peaceful. It is not too late to start being a ‘help meet’ by looking out for areas where your spouse needs such assistance and start rendering the same from a pure heart.  You will find the love and peace in your relationship getting stronger and stronger by the day.

Here is a testimony from a sister that will further build you up in His Word:

“I married my husband by proxy and living together was very strenuous. God kept me there anyhow; but was not comfortable, as I suffered various hurts. I attended a seminar on Marital Bliss where the Bishop’s wife ministered. When it was time for prayers, she joined the prayers at my side. She prayed that all that had sustained hurts in their marriages should receive their healings. Tears welled up in my eyes.

From that very moment, I found myself thinking about my husband and I left relaxed. I could then call him ‘my husband’ without any inhibitions. Strangely, he also changed and started telling me that my food was delicious. Whenever he came home, he would buy something for me. This he had not done for over 15 to 16 years. Whenever I wanted to manage the soup, he says ‘No!’ and provides money for another. I give all the glory to God.”– Ajanaku, A.O.

That same way, I decree an end to every hurt in your relationship, home and family in Jesus’ name! Please say this prayer: Lord, grant me the grace to constantly surround my spouse with assistance, in Jesus’ name!

Grace is available when you accept Jesus Christ and become born again. This grace is made available, by accepting Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour. If you are ready to receive grace, please say this prayer of faith: Dear Lord, I come to You today.  I am a sinner.  Forgive me of my sins.  Cleanse me with Your precious Blood.  I accept You as my Lord and Saviour.  Now I know I am born again!

Congratulations! You are now born again! Allround rest and peace are guaranteed you, in Jesus’ Name! Call or write, and share your testimonies with me through contact@faithoyedepo.org or08141320204, 07026385437.

Memorise: Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: – Psalm 103:2

Read: Psalm 150:1-6 (KJV)

1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.

2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.

3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.

4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.

5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.

6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

Bible in One Year: Genesis 1-2, Revelation 1, Hymn: Sing Hymn 1: Now Thank We All Our God

MESSAGE:

King Hezekiah declared a profound truth when he testified that only the living can praise the Lord (Isaiah 38:19). Children of God, as living spirits, we have many reasons to be thankful for. Whenever I consider the lovingkindness of God and His tender mercies, demonstrated through protection, providence, love, forgiveness, healing, good health and, above all else, salvation of the soul, I always come to the conclusion that indeed the Lord has been very gracious to His children. No wonder the Holy Spirit, in Psalm 150:2, succinctly instructs us to

“Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.”

This is so important that in Psalm 103:1-5, David counsels his own soul to bless the Lord in thanksgiving, admonishing himself not to forget any one of God’s benefits. In other words, there is tendency for us to forget all that the Lord has done for us. Nevertheless, we have no reason to be ungrateful to God, because His goodness forever flows to us. Prophet Jeremiah testifies of this truth in Lamentations 3:22-23, saying:

22 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”

Moreover, what is our joy as children of God? It is the assurance of better tomorrow: the assurance of better year ahead of us. Only those who are saved by the grace that is in Christ Jesus have this assurance. Declaring this assurance, the Holy Spirit in Isaiah 3:10 says,

“Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings."

Who is the righteous? The righteous is the one who has accepted Jesus Christ as his or her personal Lord and Saviour. The righteousness of Christ is bestowed upon such person because they believe and have appropriated the ransom paid on their behalf by the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who took away the sins of the world (John 1:29). God is saying to you that you should be grateful to Him for all He has done for you in the past, particularly in the just concluded year. If you remain thankful, your tank of blessings shall be full as you go into the New Year. However, not giving your life to the One who paid the supreme price for your salvation is the greatest form of ingratitude. Therefore, repent and give your life to Christ today! He will be your Shepherd and you shall want nothing throughout the New Year and in the years to come. Hallelujah!

Action Point:Thank the Lord for all His goodness and mercies over your life in the past; give your life to Him afresh and renew your commitment to serve Him in holiness and perfect obedience in this New Year.

Hymn 1: Now Thank We All Our God

1. Now thank we all our God, With hearts, and hands and voices;
Who wondrous things hath done,
In whom His world rejoices;
Who, from our mothers’ arms,
Hath blessed us on our way
With countless gifts of love
And still is ours to-day.

2. O may this bounteous God
Through all our life be near us,
With ever-joyful hearts
And blessed peace to cheer us.
And keep us in His grace
And guide us when perplexed.
And free us from all ills
In this world and the next.

3. All praise and thanks to God
The father now be given,
The Son. and Him who reigns
With Them in highest heaven
The One, Eternal God,
Whom earth and heaven adore;
For thus it was, is now,
And shall be evermore.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Joyce Meyer's Daily 1 January 2018 Devotional: Boldly Approach the Throne

Topic: Boldly Approach the Throne [Monday January 1, 2018]

Saying, Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but [always] Yours be done.Luke 22:42

God wants us to get in the habit of running to Him for grace (supernatural inner strength). He wants us to rely solely on Him.

But the enemy tries to lie to us, telling us that we're not good enough to be in God's presence. Satan tries to convince us that we've made too many mistakes for God to want to have anything to do with us.

But that's not what God's Word says. His Word says that as His redeemed and forgiven children, we can boldly approach His throne. You need to receive this truth today and make the choice to live by it.

Instead of saying, "I don't feel like God loves me,""I don't feel like I'm forgiven" or "I don't feel like I have a future," say, "God loves me, and nothing can separate me from His love. He has forgiven me and I can approach Him right now with confidence that He accepts me."

Every time you feel unworthy, remember what the Word of God says, and then boldly go to your heavenly Father. He is waiting eagerly to receive you.

Prayer Starter:God, I boldly come to You because Your Word says that I am forgiven and that I can always come to You. Thank You for Your forgiveness for my failures and Your grace that helps me in every time of need.

Text: Joshua 4:10-24

Key Verse: "And he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these stones? Then ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land" (Joshua 4:21,22).

A large body of research indicates that visual cues help us to better retrieve and remember information. The research outcomes on visual learning make complete sense when you consider that our brain is mainly an image processor, not a word processor. In fact, the part of the brain used to process words is quite small in comparison to the part that processes visual images.

Words are abstract and rather difficult for the brain to retain, whereas visuals are concrete and, as such, more easily remembered. That is why we, and especially children, learn faster through visuals. One of the most intriguing memorials was erected when Joshua led the people of Israel across the Jordan River. The water stopped flowing just as the priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant stepped into the water at the river’s edge until the people crossed safely into the Promised Land. While they were crossing, Joshua told twelve men, one from each tribe, to select twelve large stones for a monument to teach their children how God cut off the waters of Jordan and brought His people across to the Promised Land.

There’s the tendency to forget God’s goodness and provision in our lives while continually focusing on new challenges that require His intervention. Memorials like this give us opportunity to speak to the next generation about God’s faithfulness to us. It also helps our children to easily learn and understand the centrality of God to their overall success in life. Failure to pass on our faith to our children has led to the current youths’ disorientation. So, prayerfully teach your children the word of God, lead them in prayer to obtain salvation, sanctification and Holy Spirit baptism experiences, and live exemplary godly life that affirm the truths of Scriptures you teach them.

Thought for the day: A man’s past helps to better understand his future.

Seeds of Destiny 2 January 2018 by Pastor Paul Enenche: Beginning With God

Topic: Beginning With God [Tuesday December 2, 2018]

Scripture:Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.Isaiah 43:19.

Thought For The Day: It is the Nature of God to turn things around at the beginning of every new phase of life.

Yesterday, we saw that our God is a God of new beginnings and that He usually manifests Himself at the beginning of new phases of life. We also noted that He showed forth His Power and caused new beginnings at creation, Samson’s life and at the Valley of Dry Bones.

In our study today, we will make further explorations on Biblical examples of where and how God showed forth His Power at the beginning of new phases of life. Understanding this will make us begin our lives anew each day with God.

Now, what are further examples of the manifestation of God’s power at the beginning of new phase of life?

1. Peter at the Lake of Gennesaret: In the Book of Luke 5:1-6, Jesus manifested Himself to Simon Peter and others as the God of new beginnings. Simon Peter and his colleagues had given up after an all-night toiling without a single catch of fish. As they were washing their nets to go home in failure and frustration, Jesus told Peter, ‘Launch out into the deep…’ (Luke 5:4) and when he did that, they caught a great multitude of fishes, and their nets brake.

2. At the wedding in Cana of Galilee: The God of new beginnings was also at work at the wedding in Cana of Galilee. The organisers of the wedding were faced with an embarrassing situation of exhausted wine, then Jesus’ mother, who was also a guest at the wedding, drew Jesus’ attention to the unavailability of wine. Jesus turned water into wine and they had a new wine for the wedding. It is the Nature of God to turn things around at the beginning of every new phase of life.

3. The Life of Job: God caused a new beginning in the life of Job. The devil wrecked his life and made him lose everything he had – wealth, health, children, etc. However, when the God of new beginning showed up in his life, there was a fresh beginning and restoration of everything he lost in multiple folds.

Beloved, people might have concluded that you have failed in life but I want to let you know that there is a God who is about to give you a fresh start. No matter the conspiracy of hell against your life, I prophesy the reopening of every closed chapter of your life today in Jesus’ Name.

Remember This: It is the Nature of God to turn things around at the beginning of every new phase of life.

Assignments:

1. Go through yesterday and today’s messages meditatively once again.

2. Make demands on the God of new beginnings to manifest Himself in your life.

Prayer: O Lord, I ask for new things in my life. Open a new chapter in my life and destiny, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

Our Daily Manna January 2, 2018: ODM devotional: Bad Thinking and Bad Product!

Topic: Bad Thinking and Bad Product! [Tuesday, January 2, 2018]

Basic scripture: Philippians 4:1-10

Welcome this change-of-garment new Year! Some year ago, the Toyota company had a popular advert used for Toyota product: it was, “Good thinking, Good product”. Oh yes, you can also say quite the opposite: “BAD thinking; BAD product.” in this New Year 2018, it is great to create your own future and not your own failure by the thought you think! God gives us the ability to think, but unfortunately, he does not guarantee or supervise what we think!

The Word says, “…. Think on these things.” which things? Read the basic scripture again. It means: Thinking of things that will aid your arrival to your promised land this year! Yes, life is not always fair and battles/trials will show up sometimes, but you must resist any other thought that can poison your goals this year! This is because you cannot rise above your thoughts! In everyday of 2018, there are 1,440 minutes. That means we have 1,440 daily opportunities to make a positive impact via your thoughts! If depression, bad news self-pity, fear of your future, comparing yourself to others, etc, filled your thoughts yesterday, then you have 1,440 new opportunities to make a positive change today!

It was Joyce Mayer who said: “You cannot have a positive life and a negative mind.” she was on target! Then follow me to the library of Jack Canfield: “Successful people maintain a positive focus in no matter what is going around them. They stay focused on their past successes rather than their past failures and on the next action steps they need to take to get them closer to the fulfillment of their goals rather than all the other distractions that life presents to them.” wonderful! Truth is that you are going to go through tough times sometimes-that’s life. But always remember that: nothing happens to you, it happens for you!

All things will work out for your good at last, so why think negatively in battles? Do you know that God will always use whatever the devil or enemies throw at you as your Decoration raw materials? Oh, saint of God, see the positive in negative events or your past delays! Set a gate over your mind and your thoughts this early year! Remember: Bad thinking; bad product! You cannot have a positive life and a negative mind! Resist BAD and NEGATIVE thinking daily this year! Pray now!

Billy Graham’s Daily 2 January 2018 Devotional: The Secret of Real Living

Topic: The Secret of Real Living [Tuesday January 2, 2018]

O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee; my soul thirsteth for thee . . . — Psalm 63:1

Some Christians have learned little of a daily devotional life. Some time ago a policeman asked me what the secret of victorious living was. I told him that there is no magic formula that can be pronounced. If any word could describe it, I would say surrender.

The second word I would say would be devotion. Nothing can take the place of a daily devotional life with Christ. Your quiet time, your prayer time, the time you spend in the Word, is absolutely essential for a happy Christian life. You cannot possibly be a happy, dynamic, and powerful Christian apart from a daily walk with Christ. Christ is calling Christians today to cleansing, to dedication, to consecration, and to full surrender. It will make the difference between success and failure in your spiritual life. It will make the difference between being helped and helping others. It will make a difference in your habits, in your prayer life, in your Bible reading, in your giving, in your testimony, and in your church membership. This is the Christian hour of decision!

Prayer for the day: I long for a deeper devotional life, living Lord. May I consecrate myself completely to You.

Our Daily Bread 2 January 2018 Devotional – Pressing On

Topic: Pressing On — Tuesday January 2, 2018.

Read: Philippians 3:7–14, Bible in a Year: Genesis 4–6; Matthew 2

I press on toward the goal to win the prize. Philippians 3:14

As I walked past an outside wall of the office building where I work, I was amazed to see a beautiful flower growing up through a crack between concrete slabs covering the ground. Despite its deprived circumstance, the plant had found a foothold, rooted itself in the dry crevice, and was flourishing. Later, I noticed that an air-conditioning unit located directly above the plant dropped water on it throughout the day. While its surroundings were hostile, the plant received the help it needed from the water above.

Growing in the Christian life can sometimes be difficult, but when we persevere with Christ, barriers are surmountable. Our circumstances may be unfavorable and discouragement may seem like an obstacle. Yet if we press on in our relationship with the Lord, we can flourish like that lone plant. This was the experience of the apostle Paul. Despite the severe hardships and challenges he faced (2 Corinthians 11:23–27), he wouldn’t give up. “I . . . take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me,” he wrote. “I press on toward the goal to win the prize” (Philippians 3:12, 14).

Paul realized he could do all things through the Lord who strengthened him (4:13), and so can we as we press on with the help of One who gives us strength.

Prayer: This is a day that You have made, Father. Thank You that You’ll be near me in whatever I face today.

God provides the strength we need to persevere and grow.

Insight:

Today’s reading contains the most personal statement Paul makes in his letters. In the preceding verses (vv. 4–6), he unpacks his Jewish heritage, religious training, and great zeal for Judaism. The startling candor comes in verse 8 when, reflecting on what had defined his life prior to encountering Christ on the Damascus Road, he writes, “I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ.” Garbage—that’s strong! All the things that had driven him to persecute and kill were now counted worthless compared to the value of Christ. This speaks to the extraordinary value of relationship and rescue over religion and ritual. And that relationship with God through Christ is the strength that fuels our hearts in all the seasons of life—whether good or bad. Bill Crowder

TREM’s Daily 2 January 2018 Devotional by Dr. Mike Okonkwo - The Proof Of Discipleship

Topic: The Proof Of Discipleship — Tuesday January 2, 2018.

“By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” John 13:35 (KJV)

It is ironic that we leave the main issues and focus on the mundane things. We are caught up in what we wear, our hairstyle, style of music etc. when the proof of being a disciple is love one for another. Yesterday, we saw that the commanded blessing is in the place of unity and today, the word to us is to love one another.

Beloved, if we truly walk in love, the things that divide us will disappear. Stop and think about it, how many times do you say the wrong things about someone you love? Even when the person is clearly wrong, you still want to give the benefit of the doubt. You believe the best of the person you love and expect the best from the person; that is the attitude God expects of us towards every Christian. If we can do this, gossip, backbiting and maligning in every form will go and guess what, we will experience the commanded blessing.

We are the Jesus the world is looking at; let us exemplify Him in words, in thought and action. Recall the popular phrase; “What Would Jesus Do (WWJD)”, let us bring it back to the fore. Before you backbite or gossip, ask yourself, will Jesus say this? Before you judge the brother or sister, ask yourself: will Jesus do this? I know you have made your New Year resolution, but in addition to all you have planned to achieve, decide to walk in love. Love, not because of, but love in spite of.  Show the world the love of God. Let the love of God permeate your being and flow to everyone around you. Be the example of Jesus to your world and as you do, you will experience His blessings in every area of your life.

John 1:16, "And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace."

Text: John 1:1-18

The Christian life is not like an insurance policy that only pays off when we die and go to heaven. Every believer has now received the grace of God and the fullness of God. We are now complete in Him (Col. 2:9-10).

When we receive Jesus as our Lord, we are instantly changed in our spirits (2 Cor. 5:17). Many Christians aren't aware of the change that takes place in their spirit. They continue to live within their physical and emotional realms and are oblivious to the new, born-again part of them that has received the fullness of God.

You can't see or feel your spirit. You just have to believe what the Word of God tells you because God's Word is spirit and life (Jn. 6:63). Your spiritual salvation is complete. Nothing can be added to it. In your spirit, you are right now as you will be throughout all eternity (1 Jn. 4:17). PRAISE THE LORD!

To the degree that we will renew our minds to these truths and believe them, we will experience this fullness in this life, for as a man "thinketh in his heart, so [is] he" (Pro. 23:7).

Pray the prayer of Eph. 1:15-23 and let the Holy Spirit reveal "Christ in you, the hope of glory" (Col. 1:27).

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland’s Daily January 2, 2018 Devotional: Look Up!

Topic: Look Up! [Tuesday January 2, 2018]

Consider [Jesus] that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. - Hebrews 12:3

Look up...because in times like these, your very life may depend on it.

Some time ago, the Lord showed me that a spirit of weariness is trying to work its way into our lives these days through all the pressure and bad news that surround us. It's working to get our eyes off the Word of God by bombarding us with negative forces. It's trying to get us to look down at defeat instead of up at Jesus.

If you let that happen, your spirit man will begin to lose his dominion. And the Word tells us what the results of that is. It says you will "be wearied and faint in your minds."

Jesus put it this way in Mark 4. He said that when the cares of this world enter into your heart and mind, they'll choke the Word and cause it to become unfruitful. And since your faith is the product of the Word, that means your faith will wither. Once that happens, you're headed for disaster.

What can you do to stop this chain reaction of weariness?

Look up! Get your eyes back on Jesus. I remember on the field of athletic competition that when an opponent allowed himself to drop his head, he was no longer dangerous. He could be very easily defeated. So keep your head up. Keep considering Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith. Consider Him instead of the cares of this world. Consider what God says in His Word. Be moved by the thoughts of God. Let His thoughts become your thoughts.

Look up! Get your eyes off the circumstances around you and onto your heavenly source. Don't be afraid you're going to lose everything. God is your source, not the world. He can take care of you regardless of what happens around you.

If you've gotten weary lately, begin to lift your eyes. Raise your head up instead of looking down. God is up. Jesus is up. The devil is down—under your feet. Look up!

David Oyedepo: Encounter with fresh oil through praise!

Topic: Encounter with fresh oil through praise!

We understand from scriptures that fresh oil (the anointing of the Holy Ghost) is the master key to a world of exploits. Also, as long as the oil remains fresh, continuous and unstoppable breakthroughs are guaranteed. Interestingly, among the mysteries in praise is an encounter with fresh oil. This is why only praiseful believers enjoy fresh oil.

Obviously, God the Anointer is also the custodian of the anointing. For instance, we saw how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him (Acts 10:38). However, the journey to having fresh oil begins with seeking access to God’s presence and there is no other way to access His presence except through praise. As it is written: Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing (Psalm 100:1-2; 92:10, 14).

This implies that we can’t access His presence by bombarding His gates with complaints and murmurings. If we must enjoy fresh oil, we must understand the protocols of how to get across to His presence. In order words, we must follow the divine protocol of giving thanks, praise and worship which ushers us into His presence where we are anointed with fresh oil. This is what makes praise a covenant platform for encounter with fresh oil.

Why do we need fresh oil?

To silence the enemy and the avenger: We live in a wicked world and as such it takes the anointing to stop the wicked from harassing our lives (Psalm 74:20; 1 John 5:19; Psalm 92:10).

To have dominion above sickness and diseases: We understand that most of the sicknesses and diseases are direct oppressions of the devil, hence; we need fresh oil to live above all manner of sicknesses and diseases (Matthew 10:1; Acts 10:38).

To be exempted from all the evils of the day: Fresh oil is a mark of exemption against the evil of the day. Also, Fresh oil makes you indestructible and unmolestable (Ezekiel 9:5-6; Ephesians 1:13).

Access to deep revelations: Every provision in scriptures is only accessible by revelation. It is by revelation we possess our possessions in Christ. If we don’t have the spiritual understanding of the scripture, we may never live to experience the benefits therein. However, through the anointing, we see what others can’t see in scriptures, thereby putting an end to every struggle of our lives.

Access to divine wisdom: We understand that divine wisdom is only accessible by inspiration. As it is written: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). This implies that God’s word is God’s wisdom in print and it takes inspiration to experience it, but praise is the facilitator of inspiration.

Among the content of this fresh oil is supernatural joy: Fresh oil is the custodian of supernatural joy and unstoppable gladness. On the other hand, just like there is the spirit of joy, there is also the spirit of heaviness, which is one of the devil’s acts of spiritual wickedness to put the spirit of heaviness upon a man, so as to disqualify him access to God’s presence, where his solution lies. This is because until the oil comes, the yoke cannot be destroyed. Therefore, by that oil, I decree an end to every air of depression around anyone’s life, in Jesus name! (Isaiah 61:3; Acts 2:13; 1 Peter 1:8).

However, you don’t have access to fresh oil if you are not born again. Are you born again? If you are not, this is an opportunity to do so. Simply say the following prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Today, I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now I know I am born again!”

Family Dominion, How Possible? (5) by Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Family Dominion, How Possible? (5) by Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Topic: Family Dominion, How Possible? (5)

Dear Reader,

So far, we have examined the possibility of family dominion. I started by explaining how obedience to God’s Word will enable you have dominion, how you can live peacefully with your family members, how you can enjoy rest in your family and how your choice of family friends can either make or mar your family.

It is my prayer that having sensitively gone through these teachings, you shall begin to experience all-round dominion in your family, in Jesus’ name!

This week, I will be sharing with you on The Secret for Family Dominion.

As a born again child of God, enjoying dominion in your family is your birthright (Genesis 1:26). It is God’s will and desire for you to enjoy an exciting marriage, home, life and family.

As the Author and Creator of marriage, God was practically involved in instituting it (Genesis 2:18, 21-22). Personally, He took His time in fashioning the woman and delivered her to her husband. This implies that marriage and family are God’s idea.

Therefore, to enjoy God’s best in your family, you must make Him the centre of your home. You must be ready to give Him priority place, recognising Him as the foundation for a successful home and family.

Countless people are having a near death experience in their family life. Some have many wives and are still dissatisfied. Others are separated, while some live as ‘cat and mouse’, wishing that someone would deliver them from it. Despite all these, there are some who are enjoying family life and making a success of it. This is not just by luck; you have to programme yourself for it.

Your family needs the help of God from troubles, woes and calamities that befall families in our world today. Man is still looking everywhere in search of lasting solutions to the problems encountered in marriage and family.

When you make God first place in your family, He helps you to fulfil your heart desires; no matter the level of problems you have experienced. God’s help is all you need (Psalm 60:11).

The problem with many couples is that they push God aside and expect to enjoy divine benefits. They ignore the Word of God, which I call the “manufacturer’s manual”, and expect the product (marriage) to function perfectly. That is impossible!

The Bible says: If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Psalm 11:3). God is the foundation for a successful family life. When the foundation is faulty, no matter how righteous you may be, your home cannot stand.

To give God priority place in your family, it begins with your personal relationship with Him, through Jesus Christ. The presence of God manifests in your home when you are a child of God.

God upholds ALL things by His Word (Hebrews 1:3); once His Word is given its rightful place in your family, it will build a sure foundation which must stand! The more of God you have, the more peace, joy, happiness and sweetness you enjoy in your family.

Your desire for a successful family life must motivate you to make God first and not second. This is not only for the head of the family, but for every other member of the family. Get committed to God, the course of His Kingdom, His Word and His work.

Nothing and nobody should take the place of God in your life, not even your spouse or even your children. This is because if that happens, you will be placing your priorities wrongly.

For instance, I know my husband loves me so much and I hear him tell me almost every day that he loves me, but I have never wished or secretly desired to take the place of God in his heart. He knows I also love him, but he also knows that the love of God takes number one place in my life, followed by his own.

There are some parents, whose children are like gods to them. Your children are gifts from God to you; don’t put them in the place of your God. Years back, each time my parents were praying, they were always referring to us (children) as the gift that God has given to them. Then, I didn’t understand but now, I understand better.

However, you must understand that the first step to take in order to give God and His Word priority place in your family and receive an ability to keep at it, is to give your life to God through His Son, Jesus Christ. If you desire this new birth experience, please say this prayer of faith: Dear Lord, I come to You today.  I am a sinner.  Forgive me of my sins.  Cleanse me with Your precious Blood.  I accept You as my Lord and Saviour.  Now I know I am born again!

Memorise: And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. – Exodus 33:14

Read: Exodus 33:12-17 (KJV)

12 And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.

13 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.

14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

15 And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.

16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.

17 And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.

Bible in One Year: Genesis 3-4, Revelation 2:1-17, Hymn: Sing Hymn 2: I Need Thee Every Hour

MESSAGE:

Only a fool would think that he or she can exist independent of God, who is the Maker of the heavens and the earth and all that is in them (Romans 1:20-22). Moses, the servant of God, knew this and he consequently did not make the mistake of doing anything without God’s approval. In today’s Bible reading, he insisted on the presence of God going with them as they journeyed through the wilderness to the Promised Land.

There is this story of three fishes in the sea living under the threat of sharks. They went to the Almighty God to ask for help concerning the danger of death looming over them.

The first fish asked God for many eyes so that it could see sharks approaching from any direction and escape to safety. The second fish demanded for wings so that it could fly away from the reach of sharks whenever they came after it. The third fish only asked for the presence of the Almighty God wherever it went. The Lord granted all their requests, and they swam away happily. Not long after, sharks came after the first fish, and immediately with its many eyes, it saw them coming! It took a jump into a nearby pond where the sharks could not go and began to laugh at the sharks. However, the water in the pond soon began to dry up and this fish died. The second fish also saw sharks coming for it, because it had been granted wings, it flew like a bird out of the water, but only to be caught in the air by an eagle flying by. So, the second fish ended up in the stomach of an eagle, which was happily surprised to have a delicious fish as its mid-flight meal. In contrast to these, the third fish, which had wisely requested the presence of the Lord, went swimming about without any fear of death from ferocious sharks. It was basking in the protection that comes with carrying the presence of the Lord. When the mother-shark would not go after it, the baby-shark asked its mother, “Why don’t we eat this beautiful fish?” The mother-shark cautioned it against entertaining such ideas, pointing to the shadow of the Almighty God following the fish everywhere.

Beloved, all that you need to succeed and have breakthroughs this year is God’s Presence in your life. I therefore encourage you to give your life totally to God through Jesus Christ. For His Presence to envelope your life, you need to walk daily with Him by fellowshipping with Him in the place of prayer and worship, and by framing your every thought around His Word. If you are faithful in doing this, He will abide with you, and you will live in safety throughout this year and beyond (Psalm 91:1-2).

Key Point:The God that creates is the One that prospers, and He is the One that protects. Seek and ask for His Presence in all that you do from today.

Hymn 2: I Need Thee Every Hour

I need Thee every hour,
Most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine
Can peace afford.

Chorus:
I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Savior!
I come to Thee.

2. I need Thee every hour,
Stay Thou near by;
Temptations lose their power
When Thou art nigh.

3. I need Thee every hour,
In joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide,
Or life is vain.

4. I need Thee every hour,
Teach me Thy will;
And Thy rich promises
In me fulfil.

Joyce Meyer's Daily 2 January 2018 Devotional: Learn to Say "It's None of My Business"

Topic: Learn to Say "It's None of My Business" [Tuesday January 2, 2018]

Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it]. —Hebrews 4:16

Thousands of things we encounter every day are neither right nor wrong but are simply personal choices—choices that people have a right to make on their own without outside interference.

The devil stays very busy assigning demons to place judgmental, critical thoughts in people's minds. I can remember when it was entertaining for me to sit in the park or the shopping mall and simply watch all the people go by as I formed a mental opinion of each of them—their clothing, hairstyles, companions and so on.

But the Bible says that it's wrong to judge people this way. We cannot always prevent ourselves from having opinions, and there's nothing wrong with that, but the moment we think there's something wrong with other people because they don't share our personal preferences, we have a problem with judging others. In these situations, I tell myself, "Joyce, it's none of your business."

Don't let harmful judgments grow in you. Instead, realize that God made everyone different and it's ok for people to think differently. And when necessary, tell yourself, "This is none of my business."

Prayer Starter:God, I don’t want to judge or criticize others. When I encounter people who have different opinions and personal preferences than me, please help me to see them through Your eyes and remember that my opinions aren’t more important than theirs.

Our Daily Bread 3 January 2018 Devotional – Breathtaking Glory

Topic: Breathtaking Glory— Wednesday January 3, 2018.

Read: 1 Chronicles 29:10–13, Bible in a Year: Genesis 7–9; Matthew 3

Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor. 1 Chronicles 29:11

One of the pleasures of a trip to Europe is visiting the grand cathedrals that dot the landscape. They are breathtakingly beautiful as they soar toward the heavens. The architecture, art, and symbolism found in these amazing buildings present a spellbinding experience of wonder and magnificence.

As I thought about the fact that these structures were built to reflect God’s magnificence and His all-surpassing splendor, I wondered how we could possibly recapture in our hearts and minds a similar feeling of God’s grandeur and be reminded again of His greatness.

One way we can do that is to look beyond man’s grand, regal structures and contemplate the greatness of what God Himself has created. Take one look at a starry night sky and think of God’s power as He spoke the universe into existence. Hold a newborn baby in your arms and thank God for the miracle of life itself. Look at the snow-covered mountains of Alaska or the majestic Atlantic Ocean teeming with millions of God-designed creatures and imagine the power that makes that ecosystem work.

Mankind is not wrong to reach for the sky with structures that are intended to point us to God. But our truest admiration should be reserved for God Himself as we say to Him, “Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor” (1 Chronicles 29:11).

Prayer:Lord, You do take our breath away with Your greatness. Thank You for reminding us of Your grandeur in Your world and in Your Word.

God alone is worthy of our worship.

Insight:

David’s prayer in 1 Chronicles 29 paints a beautiful portrait of a powerful and generous God. While these sentiments—God is everlasting, everything belongs to Him, and He strengthens His people—are all undoubtedly true, David isn’t just praying a random prayer. First Chronicles 29 is about the people giving resources and materials to the building of the temple. David’s prayer follows a listing of the resources people donated to the “building fund”—gold, silver, precious jewels, bronze, wood. We see a striking similarity between the descriptions of the building materials and the descriptions of God in that both are written in terms that inspire awe. The temple materials, both in amount and in type, would have been something to behold. Similarly, David describes God in terms that inspire awestruck reverence at His glory. Could it be that the writer was attempting to make the point that the house should reflect the occupant? The temple was where God resided among His people. Shouldn’t it reflect His glory? Today God’s Spirit dwells in believers.

Knowing that you are the temple of God’s Spirit, how can you reflect His glory? J.R. Hudberg

Seeds of Destiny 3 January 2018 by Pastor Paul Enenche: Keys To New Beginnings With God

Topic: Keys To New Beginnings With God [Wednesday December 3, 2018]

Scripture:His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. John 2:5.

Thought For The Day: New things happen when God speaks.

God is a Specialist in turning things around at the beginning of every new phase of life. He has the Power to make a person experience new beginning in many positive dimensions.

I prophesy that He will open every closed door against your life and destiny, in Jesus’ Name.

Now, what are the keys to experiencing new beginnings with God?

1. Coming to the end of oneself

God only begins where man ends. God does not work in the life of a person who does for himself what God is supposed to do for him. The end of man is the beginning of God. Before God could create Eve out of Adam, He caused Adam to sleep. God did not work until the Earth was without form and void; no one contended or contested with God over the creation of the earth, so, He worked freely.

Beloved, if you want God’s Activities in your life, submit your activities to Him. Until you come to the end of your connections, education, abilities and potentials, God cannot cause a new beginning in your life.

2. Creating an Atmosphere for the Move of the Spirit
The atmosphere of the Move of the Spirit is the atmosphere of new beginnings; anywhere the Spirit of God is at home, new things happen on a continuous basis. So, ensure that the Holy Ghost is at work in your life in order to see the manifestation of the God of new beginnings.

3. Watching out for Divine instructions

To see God’s manifestation for new beginnings, you must watch out for what He is saying. New things happen when God speaks. Before God does something, He says something. According to our anchor Scripture, before Jesus turned water into wine, a Divine instruction was carried out. The Word of God precedes the works of God; the revelations of God precede the manifestations of God. So, if you have not run out of His voice, you cannot run out of His works.

Beloved, as you follow the steps outlined above, I see God doing something new in your life.

Remember This: New things happen when God speaks.
