Seeds of Destiny 26 October 2017 by Pastor Paul Enenche — The Grace For Power

Topic: The Grace For Power [Thursday October 26, 2017]

Scripture: And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. Acts 4:33

Thought For The Day: Heavier power equals heavier possibilities.

It is important to know that Power is needed to do anything in life. That is why powerful people are successful people while powerless people are always failures and nonentities in life.

Now, one secret of power is grace. Great grace is the sponsor of great power. To be engraced is to be empowered. When God engraces a person, he is empowered unto greatness. That is why highly anointed servants of God are highly engraced people.

What then are the products of power?

1. It takes power to prevail

In the battles of life, it takes power not to end as a casualty. It takes power to win; it takes power to prevail (Genesis 32:28).

2. It takes power to terminate captivity

A major reason for captivity is power bankruptcy. It takes power to break bondages and captivities. Captivity will continue until the relevant power is accessed and manifested (Exodus 32:11).

3. It takes power to accomplish the impossible
In order to break into some dimensions of possibilities, a dimension of power is needed. The possibilities you have seen so far are the products of the power at your disposal. Heavier power equals heavier possibilities (Luke 1:35-37).

Beloved, in order to attain a new dimension of power such as you have never experienced before, you must come to the throne of grace boldly in prayer (Hebrews 4:16). You must desire the need to obtain the power to prevail against the devil.

Remember This: Heavier power equals heavier possibilities.

Assignments:

1. Make up your mind to access the power of God for breakthroughs in life.

2. Do not live as a weakling on earth.

Prayer: O LORD, I pray for power to prevail in life and destiny in Jesus’ Name.

Topic: The Essence of Spiritual Office — Friday 27, October 2017.

Memorise: And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; –Ephesians 4:11

Read: Ephesians 4:8-14 (KJV)

8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

Bible in One Year: Hebrews 1-4, Hosea 2, Hymn: Sing Hymn 14 – Take My Life

MESSAGE:

When God calls a person into a spiritual office, it is because there are roles He wants such a person to play in the scheme of things as regard God’s agenda for man on earth. Spiritual offices are not just for the purpose of accumulating titles or occupying position. If you are called into a spiritual office, you are called to serve God, and to be a blessing to lives. God is the giver of all spiritual gifts through His Holy Spirit. However, it so obvious today that some people are not using the spiritual offices they occupy for God’s original purpose. If you have been called as a pastor, your responsibility is to raise a church and care for the spiritual needs of those God has placed in your trust as a pastor. Today, there are many sheep wandering away, because they are not being properly guided by the shepherds the Good Shepherd has set over them. There are members of the Body of Christ who cannot identify their left from their right, and for this reason the Holy Spirit in 2 Timothy 4:2, gave this mandate to those He has set over them as pastors:

“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.”
Coming up next: Open Heavens 28 October 2017: Saturday daily devotional by Pastor Adeboye – Poverty Or Riches?
Are you an evangelist? You are a preacher and messenger of the true gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. As an evangelist, you are to declare the entire counsel of God wherever you are. The word of the Lord should not be watered down because of the presence of certain people in your audience (Jeremiah 1:8). You are to constantly remind your hearers of the genuine word of God and avoid messages that will not bring people to the knowledge of Christ and His saving works. If you are a teacher of the word, you have been gifted by the Holy Spirit to explain God’s word in order to build and equip the church. You are to communicate biblical truths effectively to the understanding of your hearers. Are you occupying the office of a prophet? If you are, you have been authorised by God to speak on His behalf.

There are lots of problems in the Body of Christ today because people are not using these spiritual offices for the purpose for which they were given by the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace has been given to everyone according to the measure of the gift of Christ; hence, it is important that people disengage from causing divisions within the Body of Christ. The offices are meant to complement one another for the perfecting of the saints and to edify the Body of Christ. The offices are to be used together for the unity of the Church, so that God’s people can come into the full knowledge of Him.

Prayer Point: Father, may Your grace upon my life not be in vain.

HYMN 14: TAKE MY LIFE

Verse 1:
Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to thee.
Take my moments and my days;
Let them flow in endless praise.

Verse 2:
Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for thee.

Verse 3:
Take my voice and let me sing
Always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee.

Verse 4:
Take my silver and my gold;
Not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
Every power as Thou shalt choose.

Verse 5:
Take my will and make it Thine;
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne.

Verse 6:
Take my love; my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be
Ever, only, all for Thee.

A Promise For You From Bible Promises:

Topic: Your Gift Will Make A Way For You [27/10/2017]

A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. Proverbs 18:16. Read: Prov 22:29

In his classic book "TALENT IS NEVER  ENOUGH", John C. Maxwell told a story of a man who came to meet him and said, sir, I love writing and I really want to be like you. Maxwell asked him, how many books have you written, he said, nothing. Maxwell advised him to go and start writing. Maxwell further said, the first book he wrote (with three chapters) took him almost a year to complete.

Many of us are just like the man above, we want to be great like the well-known men and women in the world today, yet do nothing to attain the greatness we desire. Yes, the Bible indeed says, your gift will make a room for you before the great men and women, but the Bible reading tells us how such would happen, "Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men". No matter how gifted you are, if you lack diligence in developing and putting such gift to work, the Bible says in Proverbs 12:24, The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.

#BiblePromisesThought

* It is not enough to wish for greatness, what you do consistently is more important in attaining true greatness.

John 16:7 "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you."

Text: John 16:7

The Greek word translated "expedient" means "to be an advantage; profitable."

How could any situation be more advantageous or profitable than having Jesus physically with you?

When Jesus walked on this earth in His physical body, He was subject to many physical limitations. For instance, He could not always be with every one of His disciples all the time. Through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, He could. Instead of Satan getting rid of Jesus, 120 "little Christs" (that is literally what the word "Christian" means) came out of the upper room on the day of Pentecost.

Jesus taught His disciples as no teacher ever had, yet they had very little understanding because they were not born again. However, when the Holy Spirit came, He lead them into all truth and even showed them things to come.

The list of advantages of having the Holy Spirit in us as compared to having Jesus with us in His physical body, goes on and on. The advantages can all be summed up in that Jesus' power is now complete (Mt. 28:18) and no longer confined to one physical body.

There is no such thing as victorious Christian living without a moment by moment, hour by hour, day by day dependence upon the Spirit of God. Not only is the Christian life hard to live but it is impossible to live without the power of God Himself.

God carefully watches the goings on of all mankind . . . — Job 34:21 (TLB)

There is an old story that tells about a pig. . . . The farmer brought the pig into the house. He gave him a bath, polished his hooves, put some Chanel No. 5 on him, put a ribbon around his neck, and put him in the living room. The pig looked fine. He made a nice and companionable pet for a few minutes. But as soon as the door was opened, the pig left the living room and jumped into the first mud puddle that he could find. Why? Because he was still a pig at heart. His nature had not been changed. He had changed outwardly but not inwardly. . . .

You can take a man—dress him up, put him in the front row in church, and he almost looks like a saint. He may fool even his best friends for a while, but then put him in his office, or in the club on Saturday night, and you will see his true nature come out again. Why does he act that way? Because his nature has not been changed. He has not been born again.

Prayer for the day: Almighty God, there are times when I debase my Christian walk and slip again into the mire. Cleanse and strengthen me, for Jesus' sake.

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland’s Daily October 27, 2017 Devotional: Don't Depend on Guesswork

Topic: Don't Depend on Guesswork [Friday October 27, 2017]

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.- Jeremiah 33:3

Who do you turn to when you need help, when you need an important answer to an important question? Do you ask God first?

So many believers fail to do that! They'll stand around wringing their hands and talking to each other all day. They'll inquire of their pastor. They'll inquire of their friends. They'll inquire of their husband or wife. But do they inquire of God? No.

Don't make that mistake.

Instead, follow the example of King David. In 1 Chronicles 14, the Bible tells us he was about to face a battle with the very powerful Philistines who had all come out against him. The Philistine nation had been an enemy of Israel for years. David probably could have guessed that God would tell him to go to battle against them. But he didn't guess! He went to God and inquired, saying, "Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the Lord said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand" (verse 10).

Don't depend on guesswork. When you encounter a problem, seek the Lord through the Word and in prayer and ask Him what the solution is. No matter how much scripture you learn, no matter how fully you perceive who you are in Christ Jesus, you'll never outgrow your need to do that.

Go to the Lord and find out exactly what He wants you to do. Don't decide your course of action and then ask God to bless your plans. Go to Him and say, "Lord, what are Your plans?" His plans are already blessed. If you follow them, your victory is guaranteed.

Our Daily Bread 27 October 2017 Devotional – God Provides

Topic: God Provides— Friday October 27, 2017.

Read: Deuteronomy 24:19–22, Bible in a Year: Jeremiah 12–14; 2 Timothy 1

Those who work their land will have abundant food. Proverbs 12:11

Outside my office window, the squirrels are in a race against winter to bury their acorns in a safe, accessible place. Their commotion amuses me. An entire herd of deer can go through our back yard and not make a sound, but one squirrel sounds like an invasion.

The two creatures are different in another way as well. Deer do not prepare for winter. When the snow comes they eat whatever they can find along the way (including ornamental shrubs in our yard). But squirrels would starve if they followed that example. They would be unable to find suitable food.

The deer and the squirrel represent ways that God cares for us. He enables us to work and save for the future, and He meets our need when resources are scarce. As the wisdom literature teaches, God gives us seasons of plenty so that we can prepare for seasons of need (Prov. 12:11). And as Psalm 23 says, the Lord leads us through perilous places to pleasant pastures.

Another way that God provides is by instructing those with plenty to share with those in need (Deut. 24:19). So when it comes to provision, the message of the Bible is this: Work while we can, save what we can, share what we can, and trust God to meet our needs.

Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for the promise that You will meet our needs. Help us not to fear or doubt. We’re grateful that You’re watching over us and that our cries for help reach Your ear.

Our needs will never exhaust God’s supply.

Insight:

How does God provide for us? What if the source of our help comes from someone of another religion or from someone who claims no belief in God? Is their kindness still from God? Think about the children of Israel. Who helped them in their escape from Egypt? Yes, it was God and Moses. But Moses tells us that the Spirit of God prompted the Egyptian neighbors to fill the arms of the Jewish slaves with gold, silver, and clothing for their journey (Ex. 12:35–36).

Looking back on that day of great escape, in Deuteronomy 24 God reminds His people of two things. To help them identify with those in need, He wanted Israel to remember that their ancestors were once impoverished slaves. The second reminder grew out of the first. The Lord reminded His people that just as they had been helped in their escape from bondage, now it was their turn. As God had met their needs through the hands of others, so it was their turn to help others in a way that gives hands and faces to the heart of our provider God.

Our Daily Manna October 27, 2017: ODM devotional – “Is Anything Too Hard For Me?”

Topic: “Is Anything Too Hard For Me?” [Friday, October 27, 2017]

Basic Scripture: Jeremiah 32:17-28

Years ago, a woman in Lagos Island, Nigeria, jumped off the window of the top floor of a four-story building to end the controversy over her unwanted pregnancy. The lady, a fashion designer apprentice at that time, took the decision to commit suicide due to the frustration and disappointment she suffered from the hands of her ‘lover. The so-called  ‘lover,’  denied ownership of the pregnancy, while the parents of the lady kept pressing her daily to let them know the owner of the pregnancy or face expulsion from home.

The lady went to the ‘lover’s house to placate him, only to meet another lady suspected to be a rival, with the man. As the man escorted the visitor out, the lady took the decision to jump out of window. She landed on a high-tension electrical wire and was electrocuted before her body hit the tarred road. What do you call that? Suicide! Recently, I was outside Nigeria and I read the following headlines in the country where I was: “Man commit suicide for fear of losing lover,” “Teacher commits suicide in public toilet,” “Female Cop killed herself because of heartbreak,” “Man, 50, commits suicide after being denied sex,” Man, 32, commits suicide over 50 dollars dept.” I nearly became depressed over these news items, but I asked myself: “Why are suicide cases increasing all over the world? Is there anything too hard for God”

And the Holy Ghost is asking you right now: “What is it that can make you commit suicide?” Hear this: Death is a spirit and thoughts of death are demonic! Resist them as 2017 ends and 2018 begins! Never allow any problem (present or future) to frustrate you to a state of depression, self-pity or suicide. God is great and He can do anything! (Jer. 32:27). Don’t desire to die! You need to wait! Like drugs, every problem has an expiry date! If you die before the solution comes, then who will celebrate you in the grave and hell? No, life will not defeat you.

Keep –hoping for the best. Trust the Lord. Job said, “Though He slays me, yet will I trust Him, but I will maintain my own ways before Him” (Job 13:15). No matter how many years you have waited refuse to give up now! Your sun will shine again. Why die in the clouds while the rainbow is around the corner? Abraham Lincoln said, “It is difficult to make a man miserable while he feels he is worthy of himself and claims connections to the great God who made him.” Boldly declare several times now: “Devil, you are a liar! As 2017 ends, my life cannot be wasted! My God is the Almighty! I shall not cry, but trust!” Amen!

Seeds of Destiny 27 October 2017 by Pastor Paul Enenche — Products of The Anointing

Topic: Products Of The Anointing [Friday October 27, 2017]

Scripture: How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.Acts 10:38

Thought For The Day: The unction is the fuel for motion.

Many people do not know what the anointing means when it is mentioned. Many people think that the anointing is the anointing or olive oil packaged in a bottle, but it is not. Rather, the Anointing of God is the power of God manifesting in the life of a man for the fulfilment of life and destiny.

Now, why do we need God’s power and Anointing?

1. To establish progress

Until the anointing came on Jesus Christ, He could not make progress in life. The unction is the fuel for motion.

2. To fulfil life’s assignment and destiny

Jesus Christ was ordained to set humanity free from the powers of the devil, but He could not step into that assignment until the anointing came upon Him. It is the Anointing that powers destiny and purpose unto fulfilment. The anointing makes you become who God wants you to be.

3. To connect divine favour and fortune

The lack of unction is the reason for disfavour and misfortune in life. You do not need to beg for favour if you are anointed.

Today, I decree that whatever is the cause of closed doors and disfavour in your life, by the reason of the Anointing, it is swallowed up in Jesus’ Name.

Remember This: The unction is the fuel for motion.

Assignments:

1. Do everything you can to ensure that you live under the anointing of God.

2. Connect to the prophetic mantle over your life.

Prayer: O Lord, I ask for the Anointing that will lead me into my purpose and destiny in Jesus’ Name.

TREM’s Daily Devotional 27 October 2017 by Dr. Mike Okonkwo - Call On The Name Of Jesus

Topic: Call On The Name Of Jesus — Friday October 27, 2017.

“The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.” (Proverbs 18:10 KJV)

In times of trouble God’s people must learn to run into the strong tower. You run into the strong tower by remembering the name of the Lord. Romans 10:13 (KJV) says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Merely calling the name “Jesus” when you are overwhelmed will save you. David said that ‘when my heart is overwhelmed I will run to the rock that is higher than I.’ When the enemy begins to roar and rage, there is a higher rock you should run to.

You will be surprised how many people have been delivered from challenges, difficulties, and pressures of life by simply calling the name of Jesus. People have been healed delivered and set free because the Bible says that he has been given a name above all the names of sickness or disease. I have heard of cases of people who were diagnosed with medically impossible cases and they kept on calling the name of Jesus countless times, and because the scripture says that whosoever shall call on the name of Jesus shall be saved, by the time the doctors came back they were surprised to discover that the conditions have changed.

God said I will use the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. When you don’t know what to do, call the name of Jesus. When your heart is overwhelmed, call the name of Jesus. The devil does not want you to mention that name. Remember in the book of Acts when the Apostles were preaching, the Pharisees and Sadducees said to them you can preach but don’t mention that name. If that name is taken out of our message we don’t have any more power because it is only at the name of Jesus that every knee bows. If there is ever a time that we need to shout that name, more than ever, before it is now.

Joyce Meyer's Daily 27 October 2017 Devotional: How to Develop Your Gifts

Topic: How to Develop Your Gifts [Friday October 27, 2017]

Do not continue offering or yielding your bodily members [and faculties] to sin as instruments (tools) of wickedness. But offer and yield yourselves to God as though you have been raised from the dead to [perpetual] life, and your bodily members [and faculties] to God, presenting them as implements of righteousness. — Romans 6:13

People ask me all the time how to discover and develop the gifts God has given them. Here are a few helpful steps I’ve discovered:

1. Focus on the strengths God gave you. Concentrating on your strengths will help you fulfill the calling God has put on your life.

2. Exercise your gift. Find something you like to do and that you do well, and do it over and over again. Want to know what will happen? You will feel better about yourself because you won’t be constantly failing.

3. Have the courage to be different. Unhappiness comes when you try to be like everyone else rather than embracing the unique person you are.

4. Learn to cope with criticism. Have enough confidence in who you are in Christ that you can listen to others and be open to change without feeling you have to agree with their viewpoint or attain their approval.

God has planted greatness in you. Let today be the beginning of a great adventure as you step out and use the gifts He’s given you.

Prayer Starter: God, I want to cultivate and develop the gifts You’ve given me. Give me the courage to follow You and develop the gifts and abilities You’ve put inside me.

Topic: Cost Of Discipleship [Friday 27, October 2017]

Memorise:"And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple." - Luke 14:27

Read Luke 14:25-27

25 And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,

26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

Bible In One Year Luke 11-12. Hymn: Sing Hymn 3 - Deeper, Deeper in the Love

MESSAGE:

Jesus, in Luke 14:27 said; "And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple." A Cross is a symbol of responsibility to say the least. It is a pointer to the fact that the path of discipleship is rugged and demanding. It demands a high level of determination to follow without looking back when faced with sufferings and temptations.

It is costly to follow Jesus Christ for many reasons. Firstly, He has a yoke and whoever wants to follow Him must bear that yoke with Him. An example of this yoke is found in John 4:34 where Jesus said; "...My meat is to do the will of Him that sent me, and to finish His work." Whoever fails to share this burden with Jesus cannot be His disciple. Secondly, the one who wants to be a disciple of Christ must learn of Him, he must pattern His life after Christ's life and one major way to pattern one's life after Jesus Christ is to be meek and lowly in heart. Beloved, you have to know that discipleship has its price, but it is highly rewarding. Jesus Christ said, "...and ye shall find rest to your souls." (Mathew 11:29).

Prayer Point: Father, help me to pay the cost of discipleship, so that I can gain immeasurable blessing of a genuine disciple.

Key Verse: “As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was right before thee"(Jeremiah 17:16).

One night, a house caught fire and a boy, who was inside, could only escape to the roof. His father, on the ground with outstretch arms, called on him to jump, so that he would catch him. The boy could not see him, except the flame, smoke and blackness. He was afraid and protested “Daddy, I can’t see you.” The father replied, “But I can see you and that’s all that matters.”

In our dealing with God, what matters really is relying on His promises and not looking at the challenges we daily face. In our text, Jeremiah acknowledged God’s supremacy in all things. Jeremiah said God would put to shame those who had neglected Him while their names would be completely obliterated. With faith that God could also rescue him from his enemies, Jeremiah praised and appreciated Him for His favour, comfort and overflowing fullness. In spite of their derision, Jeremiah said that he was not deterred and that he would still look after the people, like a shepherd after his sheep, and would never have pleasure in their misfortune. He asked God not only shelter and protection from his enemies, but also prove to his attackers that they were guilty.
Let us conduct an introspection here! Are you deterred from doing God’s will because of people’s mockery? Do you take comfort in God’s business in spite of your challenges, or you abandon it because of the reproach of people? Yours is to rely on God for protection and help. Whatever challenge or sickness, must be taken to God for healing and deliverance. His hands can bind up the trouble conscience and heal the broken heart. As the greatest Physician, God can cure the worst of diseases. Trust Him.

Memorise: The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. Proverbs 22:7

Read: 2 Corinthians 8:7-9 (KJV)

7 Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.

8 I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.

9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

Bible in One Year: Hebrews 5-8, Hosea 3-4, Hymn: Sing Hymn 10 – There Shall Be Showers Of Blessing

MESSAGE:

It is the ultimate desire of our Father to see that we are all blessed. He wants all His children to dwell in His blessings (Psalms 92:13-14). It is not His desire that our lives should be at the mercy of unbelievers. The more wealth the Lord empowers us with, the more His Kingdom on earth should increase. Don’t believe those who tell you that as a child of God, you are not supposed to be wealthy. This is a false doctrine! It is written in God’s word that you are to lend to nations and not borrow (Deuteronomy 15:6). It is also recorded in God’s word that the blessings of the Lord make rich and add no sorrow (Proverbs 10:22). Furthermore, God says in His word that He wishes above all things that you prosper and be in good health (3 John 1:2). God has the key to all things, including all the wealth of this world. Psalm 24:1 says,

“The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.”
Coming up next: Open Heavens 29 October 2017: Sunday daily devotional by Pastor Adeboye – Turn Prophecies Into Realities
Although God’s word contains all these truths about wealth, as long as believers doubt their efficacy, they will never be able to access God’s wealth. Before you can take possession of God’s wealth, you need to have certain keys that will separate you from poverty and bring you to a realm of unprecedented riches in God. If the Almighty God gives you the power to get wealth, everything you touch automatically turns to riches. You need to acknowledge the fact that true and enduring wealth only comes from God. Deuteronomy 8:18 says,

“But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.”

Experiencing true riches is not about millions coming into your account. There are people who have experienced this several times, without the grace to retain such riches. God wants to bless you and also give you the power to retain His blessings. The type of riches that comes without any element of sorrow in it is what God desires for you and your children’s children.

God is against wealth obtained through sin. It doesn’t matter how much you contribute to the work of God, if your money is not earned legitimately, you are placing a curse on yourself, and your contributions to kingdom projects will not deliver you from God’s judgement (Proverbs 21:27). If God’s children would fear and obey His principles for wealth creation, poverty will become a thing of the past in their lives. You have to hate poverty because a poor man will always live another man’s life. If you seek the righteousness of God, all other things will be added to you.

Prayer Point: Father, separate me from all forms of ungodly riches and poverty.

HYMN 14: THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING

1. There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.

[Chorus]
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

2. There shall be showers of blessing--
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.
[Chorus]

3. There shall be showers of blessing:
Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing;
Come, and now honor Thy Word.
[Chorus]

4. There shall be showers of blessing:
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God we're confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!
[Chorus]

Billy Graham’s Daily 28 October 2017 Devotional: Genuine Love

Topic: Genuine Love [Saturday October 28, 2017]

. . . being knit together in love . . . — Colossians 2:2

Thousands of young couples go through with a loveless marriage because no one ever told them what genuine love is. I believe we need to read the 13th chapter of First Corinthians, in which the Apostle Paul gives us a definition of love. He says, “Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude.

Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.” If people today knew that kind of love, the divorce rate would be sharply reduced.

Prayer for the day: Lord Jesus, we need Your love and forgiveness in our hearts, if we are to love unselfishly.

Topic: Be A Witness, Not A Judge – Saturday October 28, 2017.

John 16:8"And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:"

Text: John 16:8

It is the ministry of the Holy Spirit to reprove sin, righteousness, and judgment. It is not our ministry. We are simply witnesses. A witness is not the judge or the jury. A witness simply relates what he has experienced, thereby providing evidence to the truth of something. We are to witness in word and deed, to the truth of Jesus being alive in us and let God be the one who convicts. We are simply to testify to what we have seen or to what has happened to us.

Some people in their zeal, have gone beyond the witness stage and have tried to bring people under conviction themselves. This is assuming the job that belongs to the Holy Spirit alone. This not only frustrates the witness but it drives many people away from God. We make a very poor Holy Spirit; therefore, we should stick to our job of being a witness and let the Holy Spirit do His job.

Jesus specified an orderly progression in the way we should witness. First we start in Jerusalem (i.e. where we are). Then we go to those nearby (Judaea).

Finally, we take the gospel to every religious and racial group (Samaria) throughout the whole world.

There are some very practical reasons for becoming witnesses in this way.

Jesus testified that a prophet is honored everywhere except in his home town among his family and friends. Typically, at home is the hardest place to witness. Starting with those who know us best will cause us to humble ourselves and give God all the glory. Also, if rejection comes, this tempers us and our witness, so that we will be more effective and more resilient when we go to the outer most parts of the earth.

Topic: Rooted in God — Saturday October 28, 2017.

Read: Jeremiah 17:5–8, Bible in a Year: Jeremiah 15–17; 2 Timothy 2

They will be like a tree planted by the water . . . its leaves are always green.Jeremiah 17:8

When friends moved into a new home, they planted wisteria near their fence and looked forward to the lavender blossom that would appear after five years of growth. Over two decades they enjoyed this plant, carefully pruning and tending it. But suddenly the wisteria died, for their neighbors had poured some weed killer by the other side of the fence. The poison seeped into the wisteria’s roots and the tree perished—or so my friends thought. To their surprise, the following year some shoots came through the ground.

We see the image of trees flourishing and perishing when the prophet Jeremiah relates them to God’s people who either trust in the Lord or ignore His ways. Those who follow God will send their roots into soil near water and will bear fruit (Jer. 17:8), but those who follow their own hearts will be like a bush in the desert (vv. 5–6). The prophet yearns that God’s people would rely on the true and living God, that they would be “a tree planted by the water” (v. 8).

We know the “Father is the gardener” (John 15:1) and that in Him we can trust and have confidence (Jer. 17:7). May we follow Him with our whole heart as we bear fruit that lasts.

Prayer:Loving Lord, I want to follow You completely, whether in times of drought or abundance. Help me turn to You for help and hope.

When we follow God, He makes us to flourish.

Insight:

The apostle Paul also spoke of the significance of our spiritual roots in Christ. In Colossians 2:6–7 we read, “Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude” (nasb). This description forms a fascinating word picture. Being rooted implies stability and an unmovable quality, yet that rootedness actually puts us in a position to walk in Him. These ideas are not contradictory but actually complement each other. In addition to our rootedness we are being built up and established in our faith, and this produces an extraordinary result—gratitude. The deeper our roots go into God, the more we will realize all He has provided for us.

Christ has saved us, established us, strengthened us, and matured us. What better response can there be than to live thankful lives?

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland’s Daily October 28, 2017 Devotional: Enjoy the Victory

Topic: Enjoy the Victory [Saturday October 28, 2017]

But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ. - 1 Corinthians 15:57, The Amplified Bible

Victors! More than conquerors! That's what the Bible says we are. I know you've heard that many times before, but today I want you to let the reality of it really sink in. I want you to spend some time meditating about what those terms actually mean.

The dictionary says that victory means "final and complete supremacy or superiority in battle or war, success in any contest or struggling involving the defeat of an opponent or the overcoming of obstacles."

To conquer means "to get the better of in competition or struggle, to master, suppress, prevail over, overwhelm, surmount, to gain superiority, to subdue, to vanquish, to crush, to defeat."

Once you get those definitions firmly in mind, you'll realize in Jesus you've gotten much more than a ticket to heaven. You've gotten the best of the world you're living in now. Through Him, you've overcome it, mastered it, suppressed it and prevailed over it.

No wonder 1 Corinthians 15:57 shouts, "Thanks be to God Who gives us the victory, [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ" (The Amplified Bible)!

Why don't you shout too! Shout thanks to God today for making you an overcomer. Praise Him that you are joined up with the One who has conquered the world, the flesh and the devil. Shout hallelujah and enjoy the victory!

Seeds of Destiny 28 October 2017 by Pastor Paul Enenche — The Necessity Of Daily Spiritual Fire

Topic: The Necessity Of Daily Spiritual Fire [Saturday October 28, 2017]

Scripture: And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn thereon the fat of the peace offerings.Leviticus 6:12

Thought For The Day: Yesterday’s mantle cannot handle today’s battle.

The maintenance of a constant high spiritual temperature is critical to a productive spiritual life. God has no stationary position for His children. That is why Proverbs 4:18 says, the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. The ideal situation is to be progressively increasing in spiritual intensity.

The man of God, Smith Wigglesworth, who was powerfully used by God to raise twenty-three (23) dead people said, ‘It is a tragedy to remain on the same spiritual plane for two consecutive days.’

So, if you have stopped going forward, you have started going backward. Backsliding is not only a backward motion into sin, but the absence of a forward motion into God. The secret of constant spiritual fire is appearing before God daily in worship and prayer; there is fresh fire and fresh bread for each day. The reason is that yesterday’s fire cannot handle today’s cold; yesterday’s bread cannot satisfy today’s hunger and yesterday’s mantle cannot handle today’s battle. Every new day requires new level of grace. Go before God daily and early to rekindle your fire; never allow your spiritual fire to go out.

Remember this: Yesterday’s mantle cannot handle today’s battle.

Assignment (S):

1. Assess your current spiritual temperature; ensure it is growing on an exponential rate.

2. Become addicted to the atmosphere of God’s Presence.

3. Endeavour to pray in tongues, for at least, one hour daily.

Topic: Life’s Mysteries And Questions [Saturday, October 28, 2017]

Basic Scripture: Isaiah 3;10-11; Psalm 37:30-40

Rev. (PAPA) Ayo Oritsejafor of the Word of Life Bible Church Warri, Nigeria and who was the former president of the CHRISTIN ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA, CAN, had a bitter experience many years ago in 1995.

He was travelling from Warri, the oil city, to Benin City, a nearby State Capital for a programme in which he was to minister. He took along some of his key members, including women. Along the way, just before Benin City, there was a fatal motor accident and he lost two of them, one a happily married woman/mother. The other, a man, left behind his wife and children. Now consider the fact that they were going on a mission for the Kingdom and they were obediently following their pastor.

There are questions in this life and they may not have answers till we get to the other side of eternity.

The natural questions however, are: Why did God allow it? Why didn’t God show it to the man of God? What happens to the husband and wife with children left behind? What would the world say about the man of God, etc? Of course, as expected, different stories sprang up from that accident, but God saw that church through that crisis. I remember now that it was Helen Keller, an American poet, political activist and lecturer born on June 27th 1880 who said, “Everything has its wonders – even darkness and silence. I learnt that whatever state I may be in therein, to be content.”

Wow! Don’t forget that she was deaf and blind. She was born with the ability to see and hear. At 19 months old, she contracted an unknown illness described by doctors as “an acute congestion of the stomach and the brain”, which might have been scarlet fever or meningitis. The illness left her both deaf and blind. Yet she became an outstanding soul in her generation till she died on June 1st 1968.

What are you passing through? As 2017 ends, what is it that you have prayed about but are still confused? Jeremiah 31:17 declares… there is hope in thine end.” It shall be said concerning you: “Sweet are the uses of adversity.” As 2018 roars near, see a bright and better tomorrow! Never look back! Keep moving! Keep your eyes on the road! Use your “side mirror” only to avoid trouble! Hold on! Hold out! Look up! Your end will be great!

TODAY IS NTHE MONTHLY OCTOBER ANOINTINGS SERVICE AT LEKKI! BE THERE WITH NAMES OF YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS! Today is yours!

Prayer Points: Take song because He lives…

1. Proclaim Psalm 37:37many times today. My END shall be great peace and honor! Not shame in Jesus name.

2. As the mountain arise above the plains, so will I rise and shine above any of life’s trial (pray it very well).

3. Pray about today and any matter affecting your peace, then give thanks and wait for your season! BLIND self-pity/DEPRESSION now!
